WWOTR(7) | I guess this is an introduction post. I guess this is an introduction post. Thanks to the admin for letting me join VHT. My name is Roger. Some of the older members here will remember me by my old moniker of “WWOTR”. (Wildman West Of The Rockies). I’ve been collecting VH for a little over 40 years. For the newer members, getting in to collecting, I guess this would be a history lesson. For the older members its a refresher course. My main focus is on the vinyl aspect of that collection. Starting in the mid 80′s thru early 90′s, some of my Van Halen audio collection, was used as the source for a few VH boot vinyl LP’s and CD’s. Off the to of my head, these were the titles: Rock Express 2LP set City Nights 2 LP set Simple Rhymes 2LP set Strike While The Iron’s Hot CDR Injection Is Nice, But I’d Rather Be Blown CDR Eddie Van Halen Guitar Man CD Dressed To Kill CD California World Music Festival CDR Blitzed In London CDR Pot At The End Of The Rainbow CDR Rape Of The Vaults Vol.1 DVD Rape Of The Vaults Vol. 2 DVD Quorum At The Forum CDR I hope to answer any questions you might have. Thanks Roger WWOTR

Dave(2308) | Welcome…back! I played Dressed to Kill all the time when I got it. Did you record any of these shows yourself? And how did you get your stuff onto bootlegs? Did you know someone in the bootleg biz?

WWOTR(7) | Thanks for the welcome Rob. Dave, The short answer to your question is no, none of those titles were recorded by me. As far as getting shows on to Bootleg, it was innocent enough and just happened by chance.. At the time I didn’t know anyone that could facilitate putting my music collection, on to vinyl. I always had the desire though. I was interested in how vinyl LP’s were engineered and pressed. At the time I was buying vinyl records from the ads in the back of Goldmine Magazine. At that time I was in to collecting Vinyl and VHS tapes of live concerts. In one of my VHS orders, there was a note with a phone number on it. You may remember the label “Toasted” that put out a lot of live in-concert videos. I was supplying them with VHS tapes from my video collection as masters so they could put out new titles. At the time they asked me if I had any good audio shows that might be good for LP’s/CD’s, as they had a friend that had “connections”. So thats how it started out. I think this was circa 1985/86. So that how it all started. :+() WWOTR

Dave, I was not paid $$$ for any of these titles. Instead I would receive a number of copies of the finished product. Roger
