Pittfan: IF I dont care about VIP check in and want to walk in whenever I feel like it, then going back to the car isnt an issue, correct?I dont want to even consider carrying stuff around.

a) You have to care about the VIP check-in if you’re doing a VIP package, as that’s where you get your ticket(s).
b) You can’t walk in whenever you feel like it, unless you skip the VIP stuff and just wait till the general “doors” open.
c) Once you are in the venue, you can’t go back to your car. Once they scan your ticket, no leaving unless you don’t plan on going back in.

If it’s the same as when I did it in 2012, you’re right Ron. Once your name is marked off, you have to stay with the group unless going to the toilet.
Think we checked in.
Had quick talk.
Went to sound check.
We were taken to a bar area.
Had food & drinks.
Then were let into arena & shown our seats.

I believe they email your or call you a day or so prior to the show to give the correct and final details on times etc?

If that’s the case, for me I am going to the Hartford show on Aug 11th (Tuesday). So I would hope I would be contacted the Friday or Monday before.

From Mwland at Links..

VIP Experience in KC
I wanted to share my VIP experience at the KC show. Not much has been posted until just recently, so I thought I would post this for those that are interested.
I purchased the Front Row VIP
Check in was 4:30, and at this venue the parking was included.
Upon check in you receive tickets, gift bag, laments. The stuff is nice and not available to purchase anywhere I could see.
After everyone is checked in we could hear some instruments being played, and after a few minutes we were escorted to the stage to see the sound check (around 5:00). They made it very clear NO PHONES/CAMERAS. There were about 50 of us. The band (ED, Wolf, Al) were all up and ready. Eddie said “Howdy” with a big smile and they ripped into LUTS. Next came RWTD, DDL and IW. Everyone was in the front row very close.
Make no mistake, the sound check is the main reason to get the VIP package. It is kind of your own mini concert.
The sound check last about 30 minutes. After IW Eddie said KWS was going to do a sound check signaling the end.
We were escorted to a tented bar area. The main gates opened at 6:00.
Overall if you are a longtime hardcore VH fan I would recommend it.

Soundcheck would be so much cooler if they played some tracks they are not playing live…. even though it is a bit of a treat to hear the band without Dave.

Dave has appartently shown up for soundcheck at least one of the stops so far.

But keep in mind that what the VIP’s get is NOT the actual soundcheck. They get a mini-concert after “soundcheck” is complete.

True… the actual soundcheck would probably be quite boring for most people. Personally, I would find the actual soundcheck more interesting.

The band just goofing around, and tweaking the sound would be far more interesting for me.

From a guy at links..

Did the front row VIP in Pittsburgh and you can see the exclusive front row hoodie. All black with the embroidered logo on the left breast pocket. Nothing on the back of the hoodie.

Nothing too different from what Dave King reported about sound check other than we only got 4 songs in SC, LUTS, RWTD, DDL, IW. Eddie stopped at the beginning saying Al’s bass drum was a “little boomy”. An adjustment was made and on we went.

I did have a master plan to record SC, but the cheap ass Amazon covert recording sunglasses didn’t work (maybe because of all the sweating). And yes they tested fine the night before. We were regularly reminded of no recordings during sound check to preserve the uniqueness of the VIP experience. For my $1000 I felt like I needed a little more. IMO.
