Even the audio we have from opening night sounded muffled at first like the recording device was stuffed in a pocket. I have to wonder why they wouldn’t let you tape it. At least with the 3 Van Halen’s your getting a pretty rock solid performance. It makes me wonder that maybe it’s Dave that insisted to the others to let people record the shows for youtube and since Dave isn’t involved in the sound check the Van Halen’s call the shots there.

guitard(7354) | This is purely anecdotal … but it’s pretty well established that Al likes to get copies of the fan produced DVDs (preferring DVD9 versions!). That doesn’t necessarily mean that he has said anything about allowing fans to record the shows – but it certainly suggests that he might have done that.

I went to the show in Irvine my buddy and I went early to score tickets from the box office.Nothing to good was released so we ended up getting some good ones of stubhub for face about two hours before the show Row D on wolfies sides they have a small pit infront with seats at Irvine but these seats were still very close as they had nothing below P or S at the box office we checked for over two hours every 15 minutes nothing dropped. When we got there VIP people were showing up and getting all there stuff.The lady in charge said specifically no cameras or cellphones out during soundcheck.

Same thing at San Bernadino, they barely looked at me, just scanned the ticket. I was worried about getting my camcorder in, no problem at all.

If you’re parked close to the VIP check-in table, and you are near the front of the check-in line, there is a good chance of taking stuff to the car. As long as you are back before they finish checking in everyone. HOWEVER, this will vary at each venue. Best to take a couple of rubber bands, or a small poster tube to put the litho in, just in case. Also remember that is the show is completely outdoors (no roof over the seating), and there’s a chance for rain – bring a poncho or something.
