Give it a little time and you’ll probably be able to get a good deal on eBay. I picked mine up on eBay for $29.99. I waited to see what condition it ended up being in once I got it. This one is pristine. Not a minor flaw anywhere on the jacket. So, I’m going to order another one to play. For now, this one is remaining sealed.

Keep in mind that sealed vinyl is more prone to warping, since it can’t breathe with shrink wrap on.

depends on how you store it….but you did say “prone to warping”. I just opened a sealed copy of The Killer Dwarfs first album, bought from Columbia house back in the early 90′s and the album plays great. Who the hell remembers the Killer Dwarfs???? (Keep the Spirit Alive)
I got my copy of ADKOT on Friday the 13th still kickin around the possibilities of opening it. The album on the outside looks great, very impressive. From the pics the gatefold inside looks AWESOME–reminds me a lot of how Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was set up with the early pressings having an embossed cover w/graphics and lyrics done up on the inside. I would like to have seen the vinyl done in splash using the Frankie striped guitar color schemes, instead of all red. All in all a great job!!!

As I recall the Killer Dwarfs had some of the weirder videos of the 80′s. That song you mentioned is the only one I remember, though.

I got rid of my old record player a few years back. Can anyone recommend a good deal on a new one?

Just like with choosing audio recorders & mics, it all depends on what you want to spend and what kind of quality is acceptable to you. There are a lot of USB turntables out there for $100 that will work, but the quality is not going to be audiophile by any means. I just got a Rega RP-1, which is sort of a good starter, low-end “good” turntable. I’ve seen decent used vintage Pioneer or Technics tables at a mom & pop record store here for $75 – $150.

BTW, Happy Record Store Day!

My friend just toured the factory where they’re currently pressing ADKOT, and sent me some video, so I put this together:
