Was hoping we would get some new music and not even a DVD… EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote |

PT5150 (6290) | From links.. I got one more scoop! I got confirmation! It is not listed on Amazon yet, but using “Google cached” I found it. It was put up and then taken down (probably Amazon just preparing the pages for official release). The links are dead. But there it is! The March 31st release date, the cover, the price! http://webcache.googleusercontent.co…&ct=clnk&gl=us EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. sickman (2380) | This is a disappointment for me to just be a live CD and not include a blu-ray of the show. I could give a shit about remasters of the first 6, I already have about 4 copies of those fuckin albums between records, cassettes, original cd’s and the Japanese box set. I won’t be wasting my money on the remasters. sickmanQuote |

JasonA (1118) | $80 for the live album on vinyl?! Yikes, may just stick with the CD for that. I am a little excited at the prospect of finally getting nice LP remasters of Fair Warning and Diver Down to round out the collection of vinyl remasters. Will probably skip the others, though. VOODOO (2375) | I assumed it was going to be the live package, but I really can’t believe they’re re-re-re-rereleasing the back catalog yet again. And still no video whatsoever? Not even a biographical type thing? Interviews? Behind the scenes? Nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada. Talk about a money grab. I guess Ed truly is done writing new material. I guess this pretty much puts the nail in the coffin of ever getting any of the classic 70′s and 80′s film released. I was pretty confident that there wouldn’t be any video released that included Mikey and since they cut Mike out of his royalties on the back catalog, he’ll get $0.00 for his work on those original albums. With digital technology, they could clean up the old film and release anything from the old catalog. Ozzy released all the crap footage with Randy in a boxed set and it was great to see. No one expects 30+ year old film to be pristine. It’s just a cool snapshot of the time and it would be awesome to see the stuff that has never been released or to even have a digitally remastered version of something we already have in our collections. I guess in the case of the Japan show, we will have an edited/dubbed version of the show we already have. I knew nothing would be released from the 70s and 80s, since they would have to acknowledge and pay Mike. Releasing the back catalog allows them to cash in and not pay Mike, since he signed his rights away to do the Hagar reunion. Ugh, they’re making it hard to be a Van Halen fan. I just hope the tour rumors are true. I would like to see them live again this year. VOODOOQuote |

JasonA (1118) | Press release says 23 songs on the live album, but 27 were played. Any guesses which songs were dropped in favor of the drum solo? Knowing hardcore VH fans’ luck, I’d say Hear About It Later, I’m The One, Women In Love and Atomic Punk. Runners up to land on the editing room floor are China Town and Trouble With Never. JasonA (1118) | Just found this. If it’s true, they dropped Atomic Punk, The Trouble With Never and re-sequenced Romeo Delight. No guitar solo? No DRUM SOLO??!! Tokyo Dome Live In Concert tracklisting: JasonAQuote |

What makes you think they did anything to Romeo Delight? Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |

VAiN (2777) | Also – IF that press release is legit, the line ‘in order to produce the original sound the band intended‘ stands out to me.. I recently read an interview where Eddie was talking about the amount of reverb on the first album and not liking it.. Can that be adjusted with a remaster or is that how the sound is captured on tape? I’d love to hear a more modern sounding VHI that doesn’t sound like it was recorded in a cave. Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |
