This was the night the winner of MTV Lost Weekend went on stage with the band during ATBL.
I have another version of this show (1st gen), with You Really Got Me included, if somebody is interested. The song seems to be missing on this Dime upload.

FLAC – Audience Recording
Lineage Unknown

The mighty Van Halen rolls into the Motor City for a two night stand. This is the first night’s show which is a decent audience recording. While night two is clearly the better of the two, it’s still an enjoyable listen. Hell, classic Van Halen is ALL good.

Setlist:

Disc 1

Unchained
Hot For Teacher
Alex Van Halen Drum Solo
On Fire
Runnin’ With The Devil
Little Guitars
Cathedral
House of Pain
Michael Anthony Bass Solo
Jamie’s Crying
I’ll Wait
Dave’s Dance
Everybody Wants Some
Girl Gone Bad
1984
Jump

Disc 2

Edward Van Halen Guitar Solo
Pretty Woman
Panama
Ain’t Talkin”Bout Love

Enjoy!

Isn’t this (and the next night) a mrmojohalen recording?

The 2 shows I have are indeed mrmojohalen upgrades, but the two posted on Dime seem different, as 04-05 miss YRGM, and 04-06 tracks are split differently.

It seems like (unk) is using someones tape collection or undocumented cd collection & posting it online.

My only beef is that there are known low gens of these shows out there & the

trading pool is being polluted with shows of ‘unknown lineage’. :-?

If LOU were around, he’d be all over this like stink on a monkey.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Agreed, that’s why I’ve stayed away from all those shows. “Unknown lineage” = stay away, since we know those shows are out there with known lineage already.

I don’t post much anymore but did want to also mention that there are two different sources for this 04/05/84 show as well.

I got my 2nd source from you. Funny thing is, I had this source on cassette & assumed it was the same as my other 1st gen source.

Nowadays, there are multiple sources for most shows, but back then – just having one source was the greatest thing.
