Why in the world would you ask someone at VHTrading About paying for a fan recording??

That goes against everything this site is about.

single-8: at this point in time, my library is being represented by a clip licensing agency in L.A.

Interesting………….Care to elaborate ?

Any interest from the VH camp? (Yes/ No / No Comment )

Single 8 ……..Have you ever considered sharing an SD version of these

& keeping the HD version to yourself, for licensing or whatever ?

Glenn is the one who is hardcore about letting anything out SD or HD … after what DJ did. HE (Glenn) shot them, so he has the final say about it. I want to let people enjoy these, but I know what will happen. I’m just the guy that got them from film to blu-ray. The old mini-DV telecines from 15-20 years ago look like shit compared to the HD 1080x1920s.

Thx for info Rob! For me if I had a choice I would rather wait and see the HD if ever it is shared as we’ve already seen some of the SD that wasnt very pleaant to watch. For a VH fan any footage is great and anything is better than nothing but in this case I would rather wait out the HD if ever it does come out … But knowing about the old Mini DVs being bad would it also be maybe a possibiity that your HD ( if not relesed) be converted to SD?? That would be an alternative instead of the actual DVs? Thx for sharing info :-)

Rob,
While we wait for these incredible videos to be released, do you mind if I ask a non-release/guitar geek question?
In the 3/25/79 show, when did Ed switch from this….

…to this?

He started the night with the white pre-Star guitar for Light Up The Sky, but by On Fire he has the Snake and uses it for the rest of the night. We haven’t seen the videos in between, and I don’t know if those exist, but is there any way you can check and let us know? My guess is right before Dance The Night Away, but it would be cool to know for sure. Thanks for your help.

Bill

Rob – It was really unfair what DJ did to you & Glenn. Taking credit for the video footage & throwing you guys under the bus was all the more difficult considering that all of you had been friends back in the day. Creating your Youtube channel and answering questions posed to you here in this forum thread, the record has been set straight as to who really filmed shows (Glenn) and who brought them back to life (you). Should you guys decide to release an HD to SD version, I encourage you to use a watermark (such as S8) as well as graphics which clearly state who filmed & transferred the footage. In doing so, there wouldn’t be any doubt where it came from.

Without trying to sound like a kiss ass – you guys are like heroes to us here at VHT. If it weren’t for you, there wouldn’t be this early VH footage. Nice thing about the internet, you can promote the hell out of whatever you have to promote. At the beginning of every movie, there is a description of who made the film (Universal, Lucasfilm, etc.) and credits at the end. Your stuff is equally as worthy, giving credit where credit is due.

Have a great holiday season.

Hmmm…..

Maybe Runnin’ With The Devil?

Am I the only one that didn’t know this footage was out there?

He’s got the Star at the beginning of SGMAD, but it looks like the guitar is darker for RWTD, although it’s hard to see. Rob?
