I was asked by a fellow VHT member to share this show. I don’t know the lineage of the tape. It was part of a larger collection I purchased back in the 90s. Enjoy.

um…… any chance you might consider making 7-21-93 your next share? No hurry or anything, but I’d love to hear that one too. Didn’t know there was even a recording known to exist of that one!

Sure. Maybe I’ll just make it a thing. I’d like to get all of these shows transfered from cassettes. I don’t have a lot of time, but I could probably do a show every couple week. I had to use archive.com to pull my old website files in order to get the tape listing to find the shows. I know there are more shows that I downloaded or traded for after that site, so the list is incomplete. What a mess… 8-O Trading is one of those things you really have to keep up with or else it’s just a lot of repetition and cluelessness.

My first Van Halen show was at this arena in 1986.

Voodoo – if you’re up to it – I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one here especially grateful for your efforts. I know I’ve been drooling over the idea of this mystery archive you have on tape! I’m guessing that you’ve likely got at least a couple in there that the rest of us have only heard of in whispers! So if you’re open to the idea of transferring one every week or two, I’m jumping for joy over the idea!

And I completely understand your dilemma over archiving. I was a cd trader through the nineties and early 2000s, and had so many shows (not just VH) that I got overwhelmed and stopped keeping meticulous track of all my shows. They ended up in cd zip pouches and then were largely forgotten about when my wife and I got our first house. just THIS year, I started unzipping those pouches and found hundreds of shows that I forgot I traded for, never listened to, it was almost like looking into someone else’s collection or a window into a chapter in my life I don’t recall at all. I had vh shows I’ve been wanting to get lately – and didn’t realize I already had!

So I’m currently trying to organize my collection and get them out of the garage (temp controlled) and into the main collection where they belong. After that – the long process of digitally backing them up will begin!

8) I have the 7-21-93 on cassette (low gen). What else do you have ?

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

There are about 850 tapes. A lot of the masters have been torrented and there are many VHS dubs, interviews, TV specials etc…as well.

Quality is good. A little distant, but overall a nice recording.

I’m dubbing the Raleigh show now. It seems from the middle of Poundcake to the middle of Top of the World it’s muffled, Thought it might be the cassette deck, so I pulled out my other deck and it does the same thing. Must have been a mic shift or something while recording. I’m onto the second side of the first tape and it’s a nice listen, even for a Hagar show. ;) It’s split up into four parts. The top cassette is parts 1 & 2, the lower tape, it picks up on the second part of Side A and the rest is on Side B.

Anything is appreciated – muffled or not. Still far better than never hearing it. Much appreciated! Thank you!
