Yes, I thought these were all fairly well circulated … what is so “Definitive” … I think that term sometimes gets thrown around a little too easily.

Right, these 1978 recordings have been around for years and years. But I don’t think they’ve been available on silver CDs till now.

As far as I can tell, the recordings have been tweaked to even things out, or enhance things, so it’s not a straight re-issue of what’s in circulation.

For where you can get them….The usual places I suspect. I snagged some of the images from an auction site, and others from a retailer. A good google search outta find them. If you’re interested in just the audio, and not having the CD itself, I’m sure they’ll find their way into the trading/sharing circles at some point.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Same show, different remastering.

To me, this one is the best transfer. Sounds amazing, IMO.

So there’s the original version, the definitive version and this new remaster ? :-?

mrmojohalen: new remaster ?

Exactly. That post on G101 says it was released in 2006. The lineage doesn’t indicate any remastering. About the only thing new I see there is some artwork.

Unless someone does a side-by-side and tells me something more, I’m sticking with the ‘definitive’ release.

Remastering a remaster and repackaging a package. Issuing a release that has already been issued … ALL DRIVES ME NUTS! As I previously stated I also think the “definitive” words gets thrown around a little too loosely. Just my opinion.
