Because you’re a misguided idiot who loves songs that compare pussy to food.

Seriously, Almost every show I’ve been to there’s always one fucktard with ‘I’d like to see them with sam again’… blows my mind.

There better with Dave but they made lots of great music with Hagar. They sold lots of albums and concert tickets with Sammy Hagar.Trust me there is more then one person who would like to see them with Sammy again.

Also Poundcake is a great song among many others he wrote with Eddie.

I’m sure there is more then one misguided idiot or fucktard as you like to say on this forum who likes those songs.

I’m glad there back with Dave but I also enjoy and still listen to the music they made with Hagar.I never understood why you can’t like both versions.

Not sure how many people want Sammy to tour with them again but it would not suprise me if some people did.

Fletch nailed it…it IS ROTH time! Like the dude from Rolling Stone said [at the VH store for the new tab book] “As for Diamond Dave, the gods only made one of him, because they couldn’t take the competition.”

Poundcake is a decent riff, but it’s ruined with hagar and his moronic lyrics… You have to admit it’s funny that I mention comparing pussy to food and you cite poundcake as a good song… at least it is to me.

Anyone can like the van hagar material all they want, but it’s just van halen in name. That’s it. The material has nothing in common with the first 6 albums. The spirit, the attitude and swagger is completely missing. It’s generic songs with decent guitar solos. Ever say to yourself, ‘Hey I’m pumped, let’s throw on ‘dreams”? If so, good for you. If not, there’s hope. And – how can anyone be a fan of sam after he completely threw Eddie under the bus and continues to be a real cunt? How do you like a guy like that??
So, that’s why people like me don’t like both eras.

How did this turn into a Hagar thread?

A comment was made “How could you not like this guy?”,

which is a positive statement in favor of Mr. Roth. :?:

I like DLR better also. But dreams is an awesome song great keyboard work and guitar solos with a great vocal performance and yes the song gets me pumped when I’m driving down the freeway here in San Diego just like Panama or any classic VH song would a great song is a great song.I don’t think songs like runaround, top of the world, best of both worlds.summer nights,Mine all Mine,The dream is over,Judgement Day,5150,Humans Beings or even Poundcake are generic at all.

Yes Sam threw Ed under the bus but Ed is a saint I guess he never bad mouthed any former band members.Just ask Michael Anthony I mean Solblenski. Not to mention DLR always had nice things to say about Eddie Van Heininken.I can understand you not liking the music or Sam for whatever reason but to not like him cause he threw Eddie under the bus in his book like he was the only one in the VH camp to throw anyone under the bus or mudsling in public does not make sense.

All I said was I like Sammy VH also and you had try to put me down to make your point but if Sammy talks negative or spills dirt on Eddie he is a cunt. That part just does not make sense to me.

I’m not putting anybody here down. But, Sammy NEVER belonged in Van Halen in the first place. It was a slap in the face to Dave…nothing more! A lot of the music was written prior to 1984…I liked a lot of 5150…very little of OU812 and I considered FUCK the best they did with Hagar…I just didn’t like SH singing…Balance was a complete waste! All thatVan Hagar accomplished was showing a more POWERFUL version of Journey…with a LAMEASS singer! Cherone is more progressive…and a much better singer than SH, but I hated III so much that I didn’t even buy it…and it’s still not in my library!

The funny thing is…as campy as Eat ‘em and Skyscraper were…they’re still much better listens than any Van Hagar offerings!

Dave ’til the end!

I actually thought Balance was the best record with Sam. Production wise, it was easily the best.

Liked Sammy berfore he joined Van Halen, and when 5150 hit, and then Eat’em And Smile, I thought cool, now I get to enjoy two great records. Production was better on Eat’em And Smile, but Ed’s a better song writer than Vai. Have always preferred Dave’s voice to Sam’s, but never disliked Sam’s voice.

Van Halen III, had all kinds of problems. Production wise, sounded like crap. Ed went way out of the way of any traditional Van Halen song writing, and he got Gary to sing different than he ever did with Extreme, who I also loved. It could have worked if Ed had great production, and went with a more traditional Van Halen sound. I consider Van Halen III, to be an Ed solo record. If you think of it in those terms, I can accept it as is.
