Description Van Halen
Live & Direct
at The Boardwalk Hall
Atlantic City, NJ, USA
March 24, 2012

Well an outstanding day as I met up with my usually partner Jaro999 at his house
for the pre-game medicine prior to leaving out to Atlantic City. We always like to get
ready and ripe before we head out and we got down to AC around 630pm or so and met up
with some other friends after we once again had some more medicine in the lot before hand. We grabbed some food at Nathans and headed in around 840pm and walking in saw the host from That Metal Show and got pictures with him which was pretty cool my brethen knew his name I am not quite sure of it was Jim Furitine or something like that but he was very cordial and let us get some photos. As we got to our seats on the 1st level Wolfgang side of the stage perfect shot with no Obstruction for filming we were ready and only had about a 10 minute wait before Alex walked on and lights went off.
They went right into my all-time favourite Van Halen tune Unchained and ripped it
up which was fantastic as I was hoping they it played as I have seen some sets on the tour
were it has not been played. They then followed it up with the classic Running with the
Devil and then into their set full steam. Dave did seem a little horse this night but was
in great spirits. He was running and jumping and doing splits still at close to 60 year old
which to me is incredible. I did not know if he was going to get up from some of those
splits when he went down but he did amazing. He is definetly the showman still after
all these years. One of the true iconic showman of all-time. Eddie of course was on fire
on the guitar just shredding riff after riff as well as Alex pounding away on his massive
drum kit. As well as Wolfie who held down the bass very well as well as the backing
vocals to high standard. I myself enjoyed the show alot. I do not feel it was as good
as 2007 which was pure hits and probably a little bit longer of show as well but it
certainly was still outstanding and would love to see them again
I wonder why Van Halen does not seem to get the same respect as some of the other legendary bands from the era and is still not in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. If that
really matters to them but they do have probably hands down one of the top 5 greatest
guitartist in the history of Rock Music in Eddie Van Halen trailing only probably and this
is my opinion you can certainly disagree 1.Jimmy Page 2.Jimi Hendrix 3.Eric clapton
4.Kirk Hammett 5.Eddie Van Halen and they also have one of the Top Ten Front Men off All-
Time as well in the band as well in David Lee Roth. I will rank but I know
I will get a major disagreements here athlough I know my top 5 our 1.Robert Plant
2.Vince Neil 3.Gene Simmons/Paul Stanley 4.Ozzy Osbourne 5.Geddy Lee 6.Bob Marley
7.Roger Daltry 8.Axl Rose 9.Steven Tyler 10.David Lee Roth.
This is why I think they should be in the Hall-A-Fame but it really is a just
a title for bands to be in there look Rush & Kiss are not even in there what a joke that is come on now. They are two of the greatest bands of all-time as well. So I guess if they not in there Van Halen I guess can not be in there either or Motley Crue. I hope All enjoy as
much as we did.

I put this up to inform the guys who said they had to have everything VH.

I personaly don’t download every piece of crap that has been coming out no need to mess my ratio up for some of these shows.I can wait for the BTB stuff for my collection and what some of the other esteemed members of this board have up there sleeves.IMHO the only thing worth while as far as dime as far as 2012 dvds so far really has been this 2/22/2012 Indianapolis,Indiana dvd.Which was a great show I enjoyed done real well. The good stuff seems to be being worked on guys on this site who know what they are doing and not rushing it out.

There is no need for my collection in 2012 for any show with no zoom shot from far away that was filmed this year when plenty of great shows with nice closeups and camerawork are gonna show,

My ratio is pretty good, so I don’t mind downloading everything and anything. In the end, I have no idea what shows will get the BTB etc treatment. As such, I download everything and hope for the best :-D

Edit: now that I think about it, I will be getting the NYCBC filmed version of this show. Here’s hoping that it is better!

Mine is only like 50 gigs over so its hovering around 107 and I download lots of bands besides vh so that why I don’t just download anything it slows down everything I have going I just downloaded 3 other bands from dime yesterday.Lots of people put up screens so that helps. It’s just this is a huge tour from 2012 lots of people going to shows and filming who really know what they are doing so unless I see something awesome I will just wait. The projects these guys are working on here look unreal.I was really happy with that Indy show that was put up a few days ago though. The only thing that took away from that gig was Roth was using the headsetmic at the time.

Don’t get me wrong! I don’t mind shows shot from the back…it’s nice to have variety! However, I like shows that weren’t filmed with Grampa’s OG camcorder! We’re talking bad sound…and extremely granulated video here!

Could we expect any better from someone who thinks that Kirk Hammett is a better guitarist than Eddie?!

This DVD is kind of shitty… like a 5 out of 10.. a little bit of EQ to brighten up the audio and it becomes watchable… Get it if you want a complete collection.. otherwise hang tight for what’s coming up..

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.
