impact. What a shock!!! The professional shot video of the “1984 Tour”, which was the culmination of the climax, was a new discovery! A press DVD that permanently preserves the masters of the people involved in shaking the whole world will be urgently released!!

“August 18, 1984 Donington performance” is engraved on this work. It is a one-cam pro shot when I served as a semi-bird (big bird is AC / DC) of the UK’s largest rock festival “MONSTERS OF ROCK”. The TV broadcast pro shot of “Hot For Teacher” has been known so far, but this work is completely different from that. It is a master of stakeholders brought by our own route, and it is the first long professional shot that lasts about 67 minutes.

-Shock pro shot excavated by the original stakeholder route
The mere existence of the video already makes me dizzy, but the content is also very unique and intense. This video is a little different from what you usually think of with the word “pro shot”, it was taken by the staff on stage with the members for documentation. It is captured by one camera from the left sleeve (Michael Anthony side) of the stage, and the sound is recorded by a microphone instead of a line. There is also a cut in the song because of the material.

“If I write it like this, it might sound shoddy, but it’s not true.” First of all, the image quality is strong. There is no dubbing deterioration like video on the screen that seems to be film shooting, and there is no flicker or distortion because there is no broadcasting or the like. It is a completely official-class visual beauty while having a documentary texture.

We are familiar with the route of the people involved who brought us such a master. In our shop, we have introduced a large number of new excavation masters of KISS that only those involved can have, but this work was also excavated from that route.

●Experience the culmination of the 1984 Tour right in front of you
In fact, this work is a series of scenes that could only be possible with the people involved. When the shooting starts with the clapperboard of the staff, the sudden backstage. The members are chatting with the staff and their families, and David Lee Roth is also dressed in flashy stage costumes and doing warm-up exercises (by the way, the backstage part has no audio. silent).

Then, when they rushed to the stage, there was a historic stage scene where a large crowd of “MONSTERS OF ROCK” awaited them. Even here, the staff uses a clapperboard and is in full-on stakeholder mode, but what is even more amazing is the closeness of the members. I was about to bump into Dave in a glaring costume, and when I reached out my hand, Michael was going on a rampage just where I could touch him. While the camera follows the highlights of each member, the leading role is still Dave. The pomp, roundhouse kicks, and pranks at the edge of the stage unfold right in front of your eyes.

“Of course, it’s not just Dave.” You can enjoy the historic guitar solos of Michael and Eddie jumping off the drum riser and stepping on the bass, as well as Alex supporting Dave’s sword fighting with the beat. A little surprising is “I’ll Wait” and “Jump”. Here not only Eddie but also Michael stands in front of the keyboard and plays with double synth. In the indoor audience shots so far, you can see the details of the stage, which were only visible at the edge of the screen, in the close-up. The flashy and colorful perspective makes you forget that it’s a one-camera shoot.

A sense of documentary of the historical big stage
Such a climax performance alone will bring tears to your eyes, but this work is even more amazing with its documentary feel. Many fans who try to hug Dave who is a star come up to the stage, but the staff suppresses it with a tackle and picks it up. In “On Fire”, the MC warned the audience who stopped playing and threw bottles, “I will stop the show next time.” Furthermore, “When the show is over, I will fuck your girlfriend!” In modern times, MC is likely to burn up with problematic remarks, but in 1984 it would have been the ideal image of a wild rock bastard. There is a great deal of applause for this work as well. In this way, a number of sights that could only be imagined from the audience recording so far are happening right in front of you.

Such an impressive performance continues even after the live is over. As with the opening part, shooting continues backstage, with John Entwistle and Neil Schon there. THE WHO and JOURNEY were not appearing, probably they just came to play. The excitement of the staff who turn the camera involuntarily at the appearance of such stars is realistically projected.

Speaking of the “1984 Tour”, it’s VAN HALEN’s history… no, it’s the biggest unexplored region in rock history. Although it is the ultimate climax era that the original VH has reached, there are desperately few live records, and it is an era where even roaring audience recordings are treated as treasures. Although it is a one-camera scene, it is possible to witness it with a long professional shot. A shocking video work that will become a world heritage of rock culture. Please fully experience with the press DVD that will be handed down forever.

I don’t have the disc, but I have ordered it. The first place I went to, a place I’ve used several times already this year (Discjapan) is down for me. But I did find the disc for sale at 3 other shops I keep an eye on. (navyblue, kent, and lighthouse)

I ordered it from lighthouse although shipping to Europe is exorbitant. Ron, I always thought navyblue will only ship within Japan. Am I wrong? :-)

You may be correct. The last time I ordered from navy or kent, I used a forwarder. That’s the main reason I had started using Discjapan, as it cut out the middleman.

Alan, will this new find delay episode 5 of your documentary from being released this week? Are you editing like mad to use all this new Donnington footage in it? :-P
