Dave (2308) | http://ultimateclassicrock.com/sammy-hagar-street-name/ Sammy Hagar Gets Hometown Street Named After Him Sammy Hagar returned to his hometown of Fontana, Calif. this weekend to be honored by the city as part of their 100th anniversary celebration. In addition to serving as the Honorary Grand Marshal of the 2013 Fontana Days Parade, the town presented the “Red Rocker” with a sign for Hagar Way, a new street dedicated to their hometown hero. After leading the parade on a float with his family by his side, Sammy was given the street sign that read ‘Hagar Way.’ Although no mention of a speed limit was made, judging by the namesake we can only assume that speeds in excess of 55 are highly encouraged, although perhaps not legal. Hagar seemed genuinely touched by the gesture. After being given the sign he addressed the crowd, saying, “Something about in your hometown having a street named after you, that warms my heart. This is awesome. This is one of the favorite things that has been done for me in my whole career.” He also threw some love out to his brother, joking, “Only problem is I know my brother’s going to go around saying it’s his name too.” During the celebration Hagar was asked by the Fontana Herald how it felt to be a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to which the thankful Hagar replied, “It’s not as exciting as being the grand marshal of Fontana Days for the 100th anniversary of Fontana, my hometown!” On the musical front, Hagar is gearing up to release his latest offering in September. The disc features several collaborations and some unexpected cover tunes. Hagar will also be heading out on his ‘Four Decades of Rock’ tour kicking off at the beginning of June and dates through early September. Check out all of the dates here. Stay Frosty DaveQuote |

PT5150 (6290) | We might have to get VAIN a mock up version of the Street name.. EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote |

ron (11783) | There’s a Van Halen Lane in Las Vegas. There’s a Clapton cross street, and it runs parallel to Knopfler Lane and Stills Way. There’s another Van Halen Lane in Stockton California, in the same subdivision as Joplin Ln, Jagger Ln, Hendrix Dr., Zepplin Ln, etc… ronQuote |

guitard (7354) | From 1971 to 1975, my family lived on Eddy Dr. The guy who built the neighborhood named several of the streets after his kids. I don’t know why they spelled it “Eddy” instead of “Eddie.” guitardQuote |
