Van Halen (first album)
Neil Young – Harvest
UFO – Lights Out (or their live album “Strangers in the Night”)
Blue Oyster Cult – Secret Treaties
Scorpions – Tokyo Tapes
Todd Rundgren – Todd (with his next album “Initiation” from 1975 a very close second)
Kiss – Alive
Jimi Hendrix – Pali Gap
AC/DC – If You Want Blood You’ve Got It
Queen – Queen II (with the first album “Queen” and the third album “Sheer Heart Attack” also very near and dear to my heart)

And if I could keep going … Thin Lizzy – Jailbreak, Zeppelin I, Boston (first album), Fleetwood Mac – Rumours… but I’ll stick with my top ten above.

Love the topic – These might not be my top 10 but rather ones that have stayed with me and are like old friends.

Van Halen – Fair Warning
Scorpions – Lovedrive
Judas Priest – Unleashed in the East
Cult – Sonic Temple / Electric
AC/DC – Highway to Hell
Accept – Metal Heart
UFO – Mechanix
Dirty Looks – Cool From the Wire
Love/Hate – Blackout in a Red Room

I feel like if I put any one of the above records on it would instantly change my state of mind into pure happiness!

If we’re just talking rock albums you bought in the store:

Van Halen I
Van Halen II
Led Zeppelin I
Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin IV
Live at Leeds – The Who
Who’s Next
Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits
The Beatles Red and Blue albums (1962 -1966 & 1967 -1970)
Layla – Derek and the Dominos

I’ve always made mixed tapes (then cds, then playlists) of stuff I like from all kinds of bands in all kinds of genres to listen to. The above are just albums I can still stand to listen to in their entirety that I bought as a kid. Honorable mentions would go to Appetite by G ‘N R and Nevermind by Nirvana. In reality, I listen to a boatload of other stuff in other genres that I’ve gotten into as an adult that haven’t been with me quite as long.
