like the song but it’s not the supersong i expected after all those years, hopefully the cd is a killer

Things like this are always a let down on some level. It will never live up to what we have created it to be. I like the song and am looking forward to the rest of the cd. The video on the other hand is pretty lazy if you ask me. What the hell does it have to do with the song??

I’d like to stay but that would keep me from leaving

Admittedly it’s no Unchained, but I didn’t expect it to be.

I dig it. Not quite what I was expecting, but I still dig it.

Looking forward to the rest of the album. ;)

I love how the lip synching is way off…I just think its so….Van Halen!!

+1 Doesn’t look like they were even trying to sync. I definitely like the crunchiness of the song. Cannot wait to hear the whole album.

src: It may just be me, but the sound leans more towards the Hagar days than the Dave days. I was sitting here watching the video and thinking that, and then out of the blue my wife walked up said what I was thinking. She doesn’t like VH, but likes Sammy solo and a few songs he did with VH. That’s how i got her to go to the Dave and Sam tour in 02 in Va Beach. I like it and think the rest of the album is going to kick ass.

For me it is more of a solo dave sound than anything else

I love the song and the video was cool. The thing I liked most about the video is, even with Dave doing his dance schtick, they’re smiling and having FUN! Eddie’s even doing a few suble moves. Love it!! :)

I need to hear it through my home system or car speakers, but I think I like it (on first listen). It’s hard for me to tell though, because of the fact that I’ve been a Van Halen fan since about 1981. I want to like anything new from VH so much that I don’t know whether I’m capable of saying “I don’t really like it”. Really, really hard for me to be objective with VH. Time will tell.

The video is about what I expected after seeing the tour teasers on 12/26. It’s cool, kinda loose and very DLR in style. The editing reminds me of some of the older DLR solo videos. It looks like it was homemade, shot on DSLR camera(s), as seen by the woman holding the camera in several shots. There’s a few clips out of focus for sure, which is why I think they produced it themselves, rather than hiring a big production company to do it. Someone on the Roth Army mentioned a female shooting the Cafe Wha? show like this too.

The lip synch is a little strange, just in the way it is used/not used all on the same take. Second verse starts out with DLR in synch, and then – without cutting away – he’s no longer “singing” it. Seems like the video could use a little more polish in those kind of parts, and it would benefit to cut in some tattoo imagery to break up the performance footage a little. Sort of like in DLR’s Sensible Shoes video, where abstract shots of boots being laced up is intercut with DLR’s performance, and then reveals at the end it was actually a chick in a full-body lace-up leather suit or something.

I know I’m gonna catch shit for this…but I couldn’t stand the video…or the song! That’s all I gotta say ’bout that! She’s the Woman shoulda been the first single…presuming that’s gonna be on the album!

Agreed it was not a great single to come out of the box with after 30 years.

I like it…I have it cycling on my iPod and after 30 listens I’m hooked. Still belt out down in flames during the chorus but what the hell! its new music! and shows to boot!! Life is the tits right now!!

The first thing that went through my mind was………………this is is a DLR number. It sound to me like the things he did on Your Filthy Litle Mouth.
Maybe that’s because his voice put’s a big stamp on the record.
And his voice is not the same as in the old days.

After hearing it some more times I must admit i very much dig the song.
I’m very eager to hear the rest of the album
