Watching old concert videos brings up this question from me…has anyone here ever caught some really cool items thrown from the stage from a band? Paul Stanley’s smashed guitar, Pete Townshend throwing a tambourine, stuff like that. If so…do you still have the item?

I have the little Jack Daniels bottle that Michael Anthony drank during his bass solo in 2004 and threw into the crowd. I still have a guitar pick from Cinderella from when they opened for Roth and I have a pick from Sammy during the FUCK tour. That’s all that comes to mind right now.

I have a drum stick from Ian Paice of Deep Purple I caught in 2001. I used to have guitar picks from Tommy Shaw and J.Y from Styx and from Ace Frehley and Rick Nielson. I gave all the picks away years ago.

Sammy personally handed me a guitar pick during a concert in Adelaide back in 1998.

I have a pick I got from Ed in 1979. This was before it was common for guitarists to toss guitar picks into the audience. Actually, in this case, I just waited for the right moment during the show (while Dave was talking to the crowd) and got Ed’s attention and made a ‘picking’ motion with my hand and mouthed the words “throw me a pick.” I was in the front row directly in front of Ed. Ed tossed the first pick and it landed in the pit in front of the stage. He threw a second one – it landed in the same spot. He threw one last pick – and I caught it. The band immediately launched into the next song and Ed only had one more pick taped to his guitar – so there wasn’t going to be a fourth chance.

I’ve seen websites that sell Van Halen picks – and the one I have is not available. You can see it in this pic I took of my concert stubs.

I have a bunch of guitar picks. Mostly Rush, Van Halen, Judas Priest….don’t remember what else. I acquired them via trades and through friends. Never was lucky enough myself to catch a guitar pick in concert, but a close buddy of mine was lucky enough to snag 2 KK Downing picks years back at a Judas Priest show we went to….and was kind enough to give me one.

Got some from LA show 2012 when roadies threw them out at the end of the show.

Best things I have seen thrown into audience was when Gun’s & Rose’s palyed one of their last shows with orignial line up in Melbourne Australia. Axl sings last note of last song and throws his mic as far as he could into the crowd.

And in 2008 at Ozzy show Zakk Wylde played his last note and still plugged in threw his Flying V Gibson into the crowd.Madnes..

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

I have two cigarettes that my ex bummed off Eddie in Toronto at the In Store signing for Van Halen III and all the signed CDs we got that day. I also have Eddie’s Styrofoam cup he was drinking from on the ’04 tour, I believe from Cleveland. He also came out to (my now ex-)wife as we were in the pit on his side and gave her his handful of picks to throw out to the people in the pit. I got Mikey’s Jack Daniel’s bandana from the Palace show in Auburn Hills, MI. After seeing me at my second or third show on the ’04 tour, Dugie came up to me and handed me 4 of Mikey’s picks. When I saw him at the Palace show I gave him the picture I had with Alex and Mike in Toronto and he took it back and had Mikey sign it for me. What a cool dude.

2004 tour
We sat in golden ring seats for Buffalo And Cincinatti.
Buffalo, had Sam sign our access badge.
Cin – Got signature from Al at end of concert. Asked Ed but he could not sign (he showed his hands and they were shaking too much at end of show)
He ran back stage and grabbed a ton of Pics and thrwe them into our crowd. Everyone was cool, we all made sure people got one and people with duplicates traded them for other ones (I got around 5)

2009
Complete set of Wolfie pics (6, different colors)

Sammy tour, various items autographed from sitting on stage in cantina seats(small bottle of Cabo & Palms LV poker chip with Sammy on it), but finally got Mike to sign my access badge

I have a drum stick and guitar pick from an ACDC cover band – Back in Black. I caught a sweet Led Zepplica t-shirt a couple of years back. Nothing from any big bands, though, but a few setlists.

I did find a guitar pick from Sammy’s guitar player and promptly sold it to a guy for $25. It was purple and had his name on it.
