silly thoughts on tapes trading

I check Dime every morning for anything interesting to download. More times than not I don’t find a thing. I even check TTD, Zomb, JTT and Demonoid but as far as dvd’s go they don’t have nearly the same amount of new shows added on a daily basis as Dime. I rarely download audio shows anymore and only do if I was at the show or it is a great sounding show from a band I really like.

It’s so hard to find a site where the person is still trading most sites have not been updated in a few years. The loss of those big trading site have hurt aswell and once you get out of the game for awhile it allmost like starting all over. I think about getting a program so I could download and upload, but I worry about fucking up my pc (lol). Hell it took me years how to make my shitty menus, mixing audio and stuff that I do now. Would love to try to do a multi cam thing for the fun of it (lol). It was just one of those days where I had some thoughts in my head that I thought I would put out there to see what others thought. I been going over my collections and got all my hockey games in order and have working on my live cd’s and dvd’s. Putting some of my vhs tapes on to disc adding a menu to em, putting some tapes on to cdr’s, etc, etc. It’s been so long since I’ve litsen to alot of them. Some of em really shound great, some………….. (lol)

How often would you say you are contacted through the site for a trade?

I just made a site to post a link on sites like jam to this,here and tradersden before I was just using a text doucument after the closing of tapetrader that I would email to people I have been contacted a few times in a few weeks since I made it.The things is you have to contact people also for stuff you want you can just can not wait for them to contact you.Between work and time with my fiance and her son who I live with I still watch a lot of dvds but I can only take so much trades at a time.Some people like to trade for 10,20,30 discs between that and torrents its sometimes hard to get caught up watching them all.Not to menton sometimes something looks good on someones list and gets a good rating and when I pop it in the dvd player its pretty much crap so it goes in the crap shoebox and not on my list.I don’t want everything like some traders do.

I like to trade at least 5 to 10 if not more if I’m gonna mail something.I use first class mail which works fine.

There may not be as many people trading and you may have to send out more emails to get partners then in the past.But there is more then enough people trading then time you will have to watch all the dvds you recieve if you have a somewhat busy life.

I have been trading with many of the same people but add in new people everything so often when people fall off.Or I want something I can’t find on my trade partners list.Not to mention I always check out sites like tradersden with lots of new activity.This one is great for Van Halen,Metpage for Metallica and Jam to this for 80s metal.

I have even met someone in person cause they lived close to me so we just met at the post office talked about bands we liked and concerts,he even use to work at one of my favorite local record stores back in the day that was something that happend via tradersden.

I can also tell the people who don’t download cause they want all the new stuff I just downloaded over the last few weeks off of torrent sites.

I would suggest private torrents/file storage also this is great for trading to Europe/Asia/Australia or South America where the post is too expensive and it takes awhile to complete a trades.Works good for a smaller amount of things.But is a cool way to get stuff that might not be in supercirculation amongst North American traders.Also works for small trades here if you don’t want to leave the house.
