This is one of the places I’d love to see a show at one day.

I’ve been a VH fan since I was a teen and now mid 40′s. I honestly must say, that I can’t remember seeing VH so damn good. I mean, it’s unbelievable. Happy that my bro Voodoo got to experience this show in person. I’m catching them in Toronto and looking at getting press passes through my business and hope to shoot (photograph) the show. Will try and play my EVH endorsed artist card (if and when needed for extra, yet probably little pull)

There’s alot of copyright issues and ownership rights/contracts with Live Nation right now so even if I do get passes to shoot, I may not be able to post any until images are approved, but I will share with you if I do.

But back to point at hand here, glad everyone that caught this show enjoyed it. Looks like one we will look back at as one of the best of this tour, with lots of stories.

Cheers everyone. Now back to lurking. I LOVE VAN HALEN!

Really a shame they stopped him from filming, these videos are truly awesome, as was the band that night it seems.

Just ran RWTD on my big screen, whoa hold the phone, I think I’m there!!! great filming and quality. I also think the out door vibe helps too to make it different from the rest. Weird how it doesn’t suffer from wind/sound movement that you usually get at a windy concert?

Shot with a great camera, It is very still even when zoomed in. It is almost as if it is on a tripod of some sorts, maybe it is & that’s why they stopped him? How would venue personnel know he is recording professional looking video in the middle of a crowd? I might get this camera for the PHX show, would love to try it at a VH show.

Fabulous stuff… I’d love to see these in full 4K definition, they look great on my large screen regular HD TV. Hope someone can get ahold of these and put them to Blu-Ray?

Great review from Tbone at links..

Quick word. I’m back in my hotel room still pumped up from the show. Quite an experience. The weather was gorgeous all day and then the rain came and we sat in the car until showtime watching seas of people march the hill in rain coats, plastic ponchos, etc. As if scripted, the weather subsided just in time for the boys to take the stage. Dave paused after slipping a bit at the edge of the stage in Light Up The Sky to say “Hey, no rain, no Woodstock!” That got a big reaction, as did everything else he said during the show.
There were just too many cool Dave and Ed moments.
As far as Dave, I’m not even going to talk about vocals or whatever, everyone has their own take on that, but his stage presence alone between this tour and 2012 is much more Dave.
He kicked, he shimmied, he strutted and danced. He let a girl in the crowd touch his chest during the “feel my heart beat” spot and held up a sign from the crowd later that read “VAN FUCKIN HALEN” and just carried himself with more swagger than last time out.

This tour has an edginess to it. It’s less old guys and more legendary badass guys. And anyone, I repeat, anyone who has any doubts about Ed and Dave getting along…stow that shit, because they sought each other out constantly. Constantly. Laughing and smiling at each other, lots of off mic talking, horseplay galore. They sure convinced me that they like each other. A lot.
Feel good chemistry? Check. Badass edge? Check.

I must disagree with anyone who thinks this setlist has lulls or low spots. This crowd was wild and reacting to every song. It zipped by. Great transitions.
Uncle Dave’s story hour was a nice section too.
He swigged Whiskey and played slide guitar along with his harmonica, his story was the one about him and Ozzy partying in the 70s and Ozzy disappearing from the hotel only to show back up the next day having passed out in the wrong room. It was great to hear that told live by Dave. He played a bit of ice cream man and said “Stay Frosty!”

Unchained ripped through the place and cracked the mountains. It was huge.
You just feel pummeled after seeing this show. In a good way.

Eddie? Yeah no worries—he’s still a god and if his solo doesn’t give you religion and goosebumps on this tour then you might actually be dead. Love his new axe. It’s tits.
And seeing Ed play the circles guitar and the 3/4 mini Wolfgang was a treat as well.
He interacted with the crowd a lot and seemed really into it tonight. He even sat down on the edge of center stage and played to the crowd.
Alex seemed more fiery in his playing. I like his solo better this tour.
Wolf? Yup, he’s a badass. The kid has skills and he sure as hell knows how to work a setlist and a bass.
Go see this tour. The magic is there if you want to find it.
Passing out now…

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.
