EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

ah yes…. one of my favorite Kramers Ed played “the Kramer ad guitar.” I still need to get the correct tuners “Crown heads” for my replica I still have schallers on mine. One of these days I will buck up and spend the dough and buy a set for my Kramer ad guitar.

WOW! This thread continues to amaze me. There are some more common shots here and there… but mostly lots I’ve never seen.
remember Ed saying he started DD tour w this Gibson double neck (until he got the Kramer one on 7/30/82)… but never saw a pic. sweet!!!

I participate on a sports card forum and a thread about ticket stubs came up. I brought up my VH ticket stub collection and then another member showed photographs he took in Phoenix from shows he attended.

Here’s the link for those who would like to see photos from VH in Phoenix 1980:

http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=11&threadid=906817 Pictures are towards page 3 and later.

I asked before I posted the link and the guy that took them said to please share them with all you guys who might be interested.
He also posted photos of Ozzy/Rhoads, Iron Maiden, Rush, Motley Crue, Triumph and has more he’s going to share.

Enjoy!

Rodney

Lol…! Those ticket stubs are my collection that I posted to the other collectors website. I can post scans/pics of any of those if there is anything in particular someone wants to see.

Great Stuff Rodney..Can you give us a insight into those early gigs please? How was the Texas World Music Festival? Big crowd, did VH blow a few bands away? The energy of the band back then must have been amazing…

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

I can only dream, but I didn’t attend all those shows! Especially the early ones as I would have only been 7-8 years old. I simply started collecting stubs/guitar picks/backstage passes many years ago and it’s grown to what it is now.

I wish I could give you insight into what it was like then, but like many others, I only have audio and video to go by.

These are my actual stubs from two shows I attended back in the day – both from the front row on Ed’s side (and I got that pick from Ed by asking for it between songs at one of the shows). The warmup bands for both shows were completely forgettable, never-to-be-heard-from-again no-namers – so VH didn’t have to blow them off the stage. They blew themselves off the stage.

Both shows were some of the best I’ve ever seen. The crowds were just crazy. The funny thing is … Dave did all his classic one-liners and other routines – and I thought he was saying it for the first time. That was life before the internet and me ever knowing about VH boots.

Dude posted the rest of his pics from this show. I guess they’re not from film. I’ll share them in a bit.

Decatone: I’m with you, especially pics 1 and 3. Both look like wall shots, grainy blacks and pic three has got odd casts of color for a conventional still pic. Where did these originally surface, vh news desk? Wonder how long we’ll have to wait till all the good stuff surfaces, guess I’ll be in my twilight years with bad eyesight and a rug over my knees
