guitard: I thought they were OK.But there is no reason for VH not to have a rock band warm them up.I’d love it if they’d bring another ’70s era classic rock act out with them (Blue Oyster Cult, REO Speedwagon, Styx, etc.).I just think after Ky-Mani Marley and then Kool & The Gang – it’s nice to see a band with a good guitarist instead a good horn player warming them up.

I loved seeing KATG on the last tour! They KILLED it! It was a party and they were a great primer band! Spot on! KWS is great regardless. It will make for a great show.

Monday July 20, Morrison, CO, Red Rocks Amphitheatre: VH for the first time ever at Red Rocks!

I have more memories of this place, both concerts and otherwise, than I can mention. There’s literally no place like it. VH, you’re now forgiven for not releasing a new studio album.

voodoo: So if this is being promoted as a “Greatest Hits” tour, I assume there will be nothing played from ADKOT?

Or the Hagar era… ;)

voodoo: I see the Detroit date listed, but it’s not listing on the LiveNation site yet. That will probably be the only show I make this year. I’m hoping the second leg takes them to Vegas in ’16 and I’ll be able to swing that one. VH and Vegas is the SHIT!

Hey Voodoo if they announce a Vegas date, I’ll see you there and buy you a beer

I saw the Hartford date has tix prices ranging from $47 lawn, fee included to $174 reserved, fees included. I went on a ticket seller website and they were showing pit tickets available for the show. I know the venue they are playing in Hartford often remove the seats and leaves the first 20 rows opened up as a pit.
This time around I am bringing all 3 of my kids. My 2 sons have seen them already and want to go again and now my 8 year old daughter wants to go. That means I’ll be purchasing 5 tix to the show so I’ll probably have to just go with lawn tix.

I just looked at the Live Nation “scalpers” and StubHub prices. Anything within the first three sections at DTE are selling between $290-$325 range. Tix in the first five rows in the pit are $3,850. This is nuts.

These are all scalper prices so far, of course they’re expensive! There are no official prices, nor VIP packages announced yet, at least for Detroit.

ron: Ziggy Marley opens a couple of shows.

I saw that on Ticketmaster, but that apparently conflicts with the official press statement:
VAN HALEN is touring North America beginning July 5 in Seattle, Washington at the White River Amphitheatre, with concerts scheduled through October 2 in Los Angeles, California at the legendary Hollywood Bowl. Special guest Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will support all dates along the tour. Tickets for the Live Nation-promoted tour go on sale beginning April 4 at http://www.ticketmaster.com and http://www.livenation.com with special pre-sale information being announced locally. A complete list of tour dates can be found below.

That and the fact that TM has VH in both Toronto and St. Louis on the same night, shows they still have some things to work out with the listings…

I realize the scalper prices are high. It’s just an indicator that the tix are probably going to be in the $150 range up front, since the Stub Hub prices are usually close to double the face value. The show is listed through the DTE website with all ticket info TBA. They said the Live Nation promoted shows are on sale on the 4th, so this one must not be part of the Live Nation promoted tour.
