voodoo: A lot of GA areas are along the outside of the pavillion where the hanicapped spots are and they sell them as GA/SRO when there is a sellout. I’ve seen people standing up there at DTE before.

I phoned the Red Rocks Amphitheater and the rep I spoke with told me “We don’t have any GA areas”, and the handicapped seating is located only in rows 1 & 70.

OK, question for someone who may know. Detroit has the following on sale dates listed:

Onsale to General Public
Start: Sat, 04/04/15 10:00 AM EDT

VIP Packages Public Presale
Start: Fri, 04/03/15 10:00 AM EDT
End: Fri, 04/03/15 10:00 PM EDT

VIP Packages Public Onsale
Start: Sat, 04/04/15 10:00 AM EDT
End: Fri, 08/21/15 10:00 PM EDT

American Express
Start: Tue, 03/31/15 10:00 AM EDT
End: Fri, 04/03/15 10:00 PM EDT

So, the AMEX “Presale” ends on the 3rd, but then there is a VIP “Public Presale” just on the 3rd. What makes this a “Presale” when everything goes on sale the next day? Will there be a password or something that you need to access the “Public Presale”? It obviously has nothing to do with the AMEX presale, since that one is supposedly over on the 3rd. Friggin’ stupid shit. Just put the tickets on sale for fuck’s sake. Anyone know what this Public Presale is about?

I’m guessing that you have to buy a expensive VIP package. no password.

It’s a password you have to get from either a fan club or through TM/LN.

I hear ya! I miss the days before the Internet when you would just go to the record store and get a ticket. The day of the show you just had to be at the front of the line for the front row!

While most on sale dates/times are consistent, there are a couple of odd balls. The NC shows go off a day early (Thurs/Fri instead of Fri/Sat). The IN show doesn’t yet have any pre-sale listed. Plus a couple of the CA shows don’t sell till next week Fri&Sat.

Whoever gave you that information doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
Vince, if I were you, I’d call Livenation and ask them about the specific seating arrangement for Van Halen. Here’s a classic example why: This Sunday, Red Rocks is hosting the annual sunrise Easter services and it’s all general admission, as usual. Every event usually has it’s own seating configuration. They’re rarely ever consistent. I wouldn’t rely on what someone directly at the amphitheater told you, especially when it comes to VIP packages, seating, etc. Red Rocks is owned and operated by the City and County of Denver, which of course has nothing to do with any given concert other than leasing the venue. The specific details are handled by the event/concert promoters. …Just a suggestion.

It’s interesting that this second Roth-era version of Van Halen has consistently refused to acknowledge the music the group produced when Sammy Hagar was tha band’s singer from 1985-1996. Roth’s Van Halen scored two No. 1 hits on Billboard’s mainstream rock chart, while Hagar’s Van Halen had 10, including “Why Can’t This Be Love,” “When It’s Love” and “Humans Being” from the film “Twister.” For the past eight years the band has acted as of those hits never existed. This wasn’t the case when Hagar fronted the band. He had no trouble singing the earlier Roth era hits.

Ron Dave has enough trouble singing his own tunes. No way in hell he can sing anything from the Sammy era. Thats why I have always felt they should do the ultimate tour with both guys and Michael.

Yeah, agreed. That’s why we basically got the same four songs for a decade. I honestly didn’t care for Hagar doing those songs and I missed them. I actually loved hearing Gary covering “I’m the One”, “Romer Delight”, “Feel Your Love Tonight”, “Mean Street” and all the others he covered. Those songs are the foundation of the band. I get people want to hear them, but then again, Hagar is still doing them with Mike, so they can see Hagar and hear those songs, I guess.
