I caught MOR in Buffalo, NY. We sat at the far end of the stadium enjoying beers and the sun. Really bad idea as people were completely gone and passed out for VH. Scorpions came on and we hot the floor, working our way to the stage, When VH finally started, I was dead center 8 people back (general admission days). Loved every minute of it!

Wow. Never realized how poorly these guys were covered in the mainstream media. Mike is Alex. Sammy “Haggar”? The end of that second clip, “Van Halen, Steve Halen, Fred Halen…” Really? Was that supposed to be funny? Ugh…

Out of curiosity, is there a full ’88 MOR show in existence out there? Did anyone manage to catch all of the bands on one particular day? I have the complete September 1, 1984 Monsters show from Karlsruhe, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an ’88 MOR show out there.

Audio or video? Or both?

I authored the 3-cam from Giants Stadium. I am going to author another one from Foxboro Stadium that I will synch with a nice audio recording.

Have both days of the Pontiac, MI shows on audio.

I have audio of all but the Scorpions from the 6/25/88 Oxford, ME show. I rained like a mother that day! The Scorps had to stop the show several times to take cover. I know the taper of the KC, Dokken and Metallica shows, he said he took off before the Scorpions hit the stage due to the rain. So this means there was a different taper who got VH, I’ve never been able to find out if they taped the Scorpions. The Scorpions set had the heaviest down pours of the day so I assume no one wanted to risk ruining their gear.

The whole days or just the VH sets? I think I only have one of those shows, as well. I may need to hit you up! ;)

I spotted that…
What a joke you’d think they would do their homework..
To think what one of us would give to interview the band & they have people that do it that don’t even know the members of VAN HALEN…

As far as I know they played Source of Infection on the first two nights of the tour. There’s recordings out there in the trading pool. :)

ron: I saw the MOR tour on the opening set of date at Alpine Valley – which is only a handful of miles from my house.I don’t recall which day I was there.Sammy fell down and supposedly broke his tailbone on the first night, I don’t remember that. There was supposedly a big sod fight (from the grassy hill), but I don’t remember that either. So who knows which day I went.

I had a seat in the rear of the shed, and was getting over a case of mononucleosis.I was right of center, but not far right.I remember the seats back by me not being very full till the last two acts.I don’t remember anything about Kingdom Come.I wasn’t interested in Metallica.I was excited to see Dokken, but was disappointed by them.I remember the lead singer wearing all white, possibly a white jumpsuit.Mono leaves you pretty wiped out, so I remember just sitting there for most of the day.

I was there the first day,and it was really warm and as soon as Metallica hit the stage the sod started flying!

the Tampa, FL 6/5 show & the 6/26 East Rutherford, NJ show.
