———————————————————————————————————- Notes:
Mammoth WVH have sprinkled in a few headline dates on their run w/ GNR and Cleveland was the first one to get scheduled. They added 2 last minute warm up shows in Lawrence, KS & West Dundee, IL before their “tour” began. So, when you do the math – this is the band’s 6th ever show. Crazy, right? This show was everything I wanted it to be and more. I already had tickets for another headliner next month, but couldn’t pass up going with some friends to see him in Cleveland earlier on in the tour. I expected a standard 11 or 12 song set clocking in around an hour and that would be that. Instead, he did those 12 songs plus he throws in a couple live debuts, “Horribly Right”, “Feel”, the Japanese bonus cut, “Talk & Walk” (how COOL is that?) and finally the biggest surprise of the night – “As Long As You’re Not You” (a song NO one has heard before – anywhere) performed here for the very first time. There was something special in the air, and this was without question something Wolfgang will never forget. Many fans traveled from all over the country to see his first scheduled headliner and it was more than worth it. The crowd didnt stop with the praise all night. Huge rounds of applause after every song!! As far as the recording goes, I want to make sure to send out thanks to fellow fan Janice for donating her official platinum front row balcony seat a mere few minutes before doors. I already had a GA floor ticket, but took the upgrade while gifting my ticket to a friend. I knew the sound would be the best in the balcony and it did not disappoint. I had one drunken loud mouth to my right the entire set “whoo”ing after song or comment Wolf would make. It got extremely annoying. I did my best to remove him, you may hear cuts in the crowd noise at times. I also relied on RX 7 Audio Editor for his unnecessary claps during songs. He was mainly a nuisance between songs, but I listened back to every minute ensuring he didnt ruin any of the performances here. It goes without saying – this was one of the best shows Ive seen in recent memory. The Mammoth WVH debut LP has been a favorite since it’s release in May. I cannot recommend it enough.
Please go out and support these guys! Buy the record and buy the merch!!!
