Can somebody tell me” THE TRUTH”? please !?

I don’t understand what the hell is going on …

To be honest, this is the best part about being a Van Halen fan. They don’t tell us anything! It’s kind of fun starting, dissecting, debunking and discussing all the rumors because that’s literally all we have. If you embrace it, it’s actually pretty cool. How many other fan bases get to experience such unfounded highs and lows – mostly all of our own doing!? It’s great! Thanks, Van Halen!

Okay, right now I know even more than I did yesterday. At this point, I know all I need to know about this rumor, and what is and is not going on with the band, in order to tell you all the truth about this.

Do you want to know the truth, no matter what? It’s human nature to want to believe an exciting rumor, over the person who says it’s not true.

This rumor is absolutely, positively FALSE. Man, I wish this was true, so that I could get excited along with everyone else who is.

Every time I debunk a false rumor, there’s always some people who say something like, “Nothing against Jeff, but what do you expect him to say? He works for the band.” They think I am either told to lie, or they think the band, or someone close to them, purposely gives me misinformation to pass along to the fans.

On the contrary, I can tell you that NEITHER of those scenarios has EVER happened. In all the years I’ve been doing this, I have never been wrong when I shot down a rumor. Nor have I ever lied to the fans. Nor has the band ever purposely given me bad information to pass along to the fans.

When you want to know the truth about rumors about this band, just keep in mind what I just said.

Also, I want to say this. If there were to be a widespread rumor about the future of the band that was TRUE, I absolutely do NOT think that the band (or a representative) would come to me and ask me to shoot it down. I say this because that has NEVER happened. And I don’t can’t imagine them starting to do that at this point, since they’ve never done that in the two decades that I’ve been a major outlet for Van Halen news.

If, for example, THIS rumor was correct, the last thing I would do would be to lie the fans and try to debunk the rumor. I would not say anything. I’d be silent and I’d be excited about the future. You can go ahead and remember that for the next time there’s a new rumor.

Whenever I shoot down a rumor, I am not doing that because the band told me to, or had someone ask me to. I am doing it on my own accord. It’s because I care about the fans, and I don’t want them to get excited about stuff that they think is going to happen, which I know is not only not happening, but is not even being planned right now.

I’m not saying that I know everything, but i KNOW this rumor is false. It’s possible that I could be wrong about something. But just consider that hasn’t happened yet. Just consider my track record. I’m sticking my neck out and risking my credibility whenever I have publicly addressed a rumor. I’m doing this at my own risk, and I’m doing it to inform my fellow fans, as a courtesy.

Lastly, I just found out two major tidbits:

*They are definitely NOT remastering the Sammy-era albums.

*Wolfgang’s future album is NOT done, and does NOT have a release date, nor even a general time-frame for a release date.

They are doing absolutely nothing right now.

For those who want to know what is really going on, I can assure you that the band has recorded absolutely nothing. Nothing with a singer, nothing without.

But this is not rue. Neither of this year’s two major rumors had any basis in fact.

This is not a case of …. the Roth Army’s rumor is true RIGHT NOW, but might change …. or a case of what Fudd is saying is true as of right now, but might change.

I am saying that there is NO TRUTH to either of those rumors.

In time, all of you will see that these rumors were false.

For those who think that the band changing their Facebook photo is some sort of clue that something secretive is going on… it isn’t. Why would change the photo as some sort of secret sign, and then watch as I debunk the rumor?

The band logged into Facebook. They put up a cool photo of the band. Because the band is still together. Then they put up a holiday greeting, as they do most years at this time.

That’s all it is, guys. Sometimes the Facebook photo is just a Facebook photo. I wish there was something more to it, too. But I’m in a position where I can tell you the truth, so I might as well.

David was definitely not in that area for any reason related to Van Halen. Why was he there? Probably to buy cigar. Or for any of the thousand other reasons he might be in that area. The other band members did not even know he was in the area until someone in their camp saw it on the Internet.

This, too, is totally untrue. The band has NEVER been a source of any of the false rumors.

There’s nothing else to say about that.

I HATE the fact that I’m I am having to contradict a fellow fan on this website.

I get absolutely no joy out of letting all of you down, believe me. I barely know Fudd, but I talked to him for an hour, and I like him. I tried to tell him on the phone what I am saying now.

I always try to let myself be the fall guy, instead of the band. As in, I would rather be the one who disappoints the fans by telling them that an exciting rumor is untrue, rather than to sit back and say nothing, and watch the fans learn it themselves, the hard way, after they have built up even more excitement.

And Cabo Chris, you were complaining that I don’t break news. Well, I DO break news. But as for me simply shooting down rumors, I’ll say this…

When most people are believing that Sammy and Mike are secretly back in the band, isn’t telling everyone that they are NOT secretly back in the band giving people some pretty big news?

When most people believe that they are secretly recording a lot of stuff with Dave, isn’t telling people that that is NOT happening breaking some pretty big news?

And when most people — even BIG music news websites — are saying that a recorded studio album is in the can, and I say it isn’t… isn’t that some pretty important news?

It’s big news. It’s just not what we want to hear.

I don’t want another album with Roth. I want a tour wit Sammy and Mikey.

Man, you said it. Those people are disturbed over there. It looks to me like they have about a dozen people saying the same damn things over and over.

Someone who works with Irving Azoff
Someone who works for MSG entertainment
Someone who works for Live nation
Someone who works for a merchandise vendor
Someone who works at EVH gear
And I can’t say the best one.

If ALL these people are full of shit, I’ll never post another goddamn thing on the links.

Expect something around St. Patrick’s day.

Kinda hard to believe…let’s wait and see…
