Agreed all eras of VH are great.I have seen them with every singer & I am grateful they still putting out music and doing shows.
For me it’s about Ed and the music he comes up with.

videoman320: It would be a nightmare for Sammy haters like you when he blows away Dave like he did in 2002. As for your dollar sign I would bet Sammy is worth far more than the rest of Van Halen combined. I’ll put Hagars body of work for his career up against Roths anyday.

I saw the 02 tour as well, and naturally i disagree with you. Whatever, you can have sam, I’ll stick with the original formula. I don’t care about solo efforts.. pound for pound 78-84 destroys 86-95.

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.

guitard: VHTrading doesn’t need the negative debates. It has literally driven long time members away from the site. There are plenty of other sites that practically specialize in these kinds of discussions.Youguys know which sites I’m talking about. Please take these kinds of discussions there.

Honestly, as a long time member, I don’t recall anyone being pushed away from here because their feelings were hurt. I really don’t recall any crazy heated debates either… but as the resident VH fan you all love to hate™, I’ll play nice.

Typically, they don’t publicize it – they just stop coming to the site. And it’s not because of hurt feelings – it’s because of the negative atmosphere.

mcs5150: I like Dave; I like Sammy; I like Gary; I like Van Halen. That is all.

I will second that.

The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. Nobody rules these streets at night like Van Halen!!

One thing that made me laugh on this tour is when Mike sings “Somebody Get Me A Doctor”,

Sam pretends that Mike stole the microphone from him in a WTF moment. :)

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

As much as I LOVE to see Ed healthy & Dave back in VH, I would take a 2004 tour over no tour anyday. I actually enjoyed the 2004 tour even if Ed was in such bad shape. As for Sammy being the evil one & taking the money for touring knowing that Ed was in rough shape, EVH got paid, Mikey got paid, AVH got paid, live nation got paid, all the people propping EVH up got paid. Ed did not miss any shows did he? He was a grown ass man that went on tour, it’s not like he was a caged monkey at the zoo. And oh yeah I thought the 2007 tour was awesome…

IMO, 2004 was the lowest point in the Van Halen saga. The 3 “new” songs were garbage. The tour was a drunken Ed mess. I even threw all my 2004 recordings in the trash. I want to forget that point in time for Van Halen ever existed.

the 2004 tour was not always good… Eddie was wasted most of the time… and it’s too bad …
But There are good shows to remember… the Cincinnati show was in my opinion very good…

By the way, here is one of the good things about the 2004, a father who loves his son above all.

Honestly, it’s never good when you see Eddie wasted… he was sometimes kinda-wasted even during the first leg of the 2007/2008 tour…

Let’s hope that next tour will be even better than ever…

Looking at the 2013 shows, Eddie seems to be perfectly healthy and sober… let’s hope he’ll continue this way.
