vhrob (1742) | Well it’s been a while since I bought or played guitar as of late as I have been involved with other stuff and kind of been VH’ed out a little over the last 6 months. But I just picked up an EVH Circles guitar from the bay yesterday. Been toying with the idea of grabbing an EVH striped series for a while and when the Circles axe came out, I guess I was intrigued enough to grab one. Mainly because I have been contemplating building another one for a couple years and at the same time always wanted a striped series guitar but did not want another RWB, Bee or Black and White VH1 because I already have custom replicas. So I guess this one was a good choice. Should be in by the end of the week I guess. Pretty good deal on it – $712.00 with shipping to my door and it’s brand new. Private sale too. I’ll post some pics when she comes in. Guess I am getting lazy in my old age. Don’t have the energy to build the replicas anymore. Ah well that’s OK … got enough of em anyways so this was an easy choice. vhtrading member since 2000 vhrobQuote |

VOODOO (2375) | I haven’t been able to swing the money lately due to legal and medical bills. I’d love to get one of the circles guitars, but I already have two striped series guitars and obviously the only difference between them is the paint job. They do play great and I honestly think they are great guitars for the price. I’m hoping to save some cash and track down a silver Stealth. I think you’re going to enjoy that new guit-fiddle, Rob!! VAiN (2777) | Nice! I’m very happy with mine. The frets are nice & big and it plays like butter. I flipped the input jack on mine to match the original. Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |

vhrob (1742) | Mine is exactly the same Vain…. not sure I like the backwards angle of the bridge but it does play smooth and like butter. A few little flaws with the factory paint job from what Ed’s was but no biggie. Very small little item that I may fix. But I do love how it plays. Rob vhtrading member since 2000 vhrobQuote |

I wish there was a fix for the bridge angle that didn’t involve having it float. I suppose it could be set up to float and then blocked, but that doesn’t make much sense to me. Are the EVH striped ones like that too? I’ve actually never played one. What do you see missing in the finish? Did you flip the input jack yet? Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. vhrob (1742) | There is a fix for it without having it float. It’s a trick my old guitar tech taught me. It’s called the popsicle trick. You take a popsicle stick, break off a piece about half inch long and glue it in the trem cavity in the back on the wood so the block hits it and levels out your Floyd. Keeps the block resting on the popsicle stick. So it appears to be floating on the top, but it’s really resting on the wood underneath the cavity. Works like a charm. No I did not flip the input jack yet. I hate it the way the bar always gets stuck unless you use a 45 degree cord and I don’t like those either. I did fix the paintjob on the top horn and color in the back like Ed’s was though. Here are some pics of myelf, daughter Molly and the VH guitars. Rob vhtrading member since 2000 vhrobQuote |

Ahhhh… the popsicle trick – I like that. I’ll give it some thought and maybe give it a go. Sounds like it should work with a little dialing in. Thanks for the idea! I use a 45-degree cable so I’m good with the bar clearance issue. Your collection is mind blowing, I have serious guitar envy! Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |

vhrob (1742) | thanks Pete…. you know Vain I know I might make it 2 weeks and then I am going to have to swap over the input jack backwards because its going to ANNOY the shit outta me to point where I can’t stand it anymore so I’ll end up doing it anyways… ha ha. As far as the popsicle trick is concerned… the nice thing about it is everything is still connected so as Ed always said he does like things to be connected….. it still is. The bridge still rests on wood it just rests on the wood underneath in the cavity which technically is just as big as on top of the body…. so things still work, sound and function the same as he feels they should. Dutchie (1800) | Congrats on the new guitar Rob. Looks great and I’m glad you like it. I flipped the jack on mime too, but you could see the indent in the body from it and it annoyed me, so I flipped it back. Maybe once I’ve had it a while and it gets beat up a bit, I might flip it again. DutchieQuote |
