Yeah, I guess we would have to read the thread and read it in it’s proper context. And I thought the same as Ron, that releasing a show from ’08 seems silly when they had so many amazing shows on the ’12 tour which supported new music as well. Vocally, I think Dave was spotty at best during that tour, but when they came back in ’13 in Japan and the two shows here, I thought he was MUCH better. In the back of my mind, I thought either the Australian show or the first night in Japan would be the shows they would want to release. The Australian show, simply because it was the first time there with Dave and it was a big, outdoor event or the Japan show, because they played an extended set and it was a huge, enthusiastic crowd. I know, I know, they don’t think like we/I do. If they do release a live show, I would hate to have them drop in Dave’s vocals like they did on the US Fest promo video. VOODOOQuote |

guitard (7354) | As far as not releasing a 2012 show because of Dave’s vocals … that ain’t nothin’ a little studio work can’t fix. Seriously, it’s pretty standard to fix up “live” recordings with studio work. That’s why true live recordings like the ones we share here sound so “live” … because they include sound fluctuations, unintended feedback, and various other warts. guitardQuote |

Agreed. I guess I was just saying that those 2013 shows were actually pretty good for Dave and they were pretty big shows for them while most of the 2012 tour, Dave wasn’t as good and most of those shows were pretty similar almost cookie cutter shows with a couple song change ups. The 2013 shows were more “showcase” performances in large venues outside of the US and as a bonus would need less work on Dave’s vocals. I agree they could put anything together and just have Dave redo vox in the studio. I don’t think any of my thoughts or ideas are anywhere near being in line with what’s happening with their secret project. VOODOOQuote |

videoman320 (308) | It wouldn’t surprise me if Eddie was working on some kind of box set release. It seems everyone is on the box set kick as of late. Maybe a mixture of some live stuff and some remastered oldies. From all the posts here I don’t think its a new cd or a live video release. A box set with a few cd’s and a dvd is what I think it will be. Then again this is Eddie Van Halen that has us all guessing, it’s probably something none of us have thought of !! We can guess all we want but in the end whatever they put out there all of us and many others are going to buy it no matter what it is. LMAO!!!! videoman320Quote |

PT5150 (6290) | The guy goes by the name Bill Fold at links. 08.19.11. When the new album finally comes let’s all be thankful that we finally have it in our hands, so to speak. I know expectations are high and people will be very critical. However let’s all remember that we have waited a long time for new music from these guys and I would hope that everybody keeps it positive. Let’s be fired up that new music is coming, very soon!!! These guys are putting blood sweat and tears into this thing so let’s turn it up and enjoy!!! Cheers! He seemed to know someone in the VH camp and had this to say on 08.24.11.. Let’s just say a friend of a friend that is involved in some of the goings on around the near future release has confirmed mixing is done also. Waiting on final approval from “powers that be.” Im not trying to “be” anything guys, please understand, I’m just a very big fan like you guys and happen to be privy to a few “minor” details. Cheers!! EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote |

PT5150 (6290) | May be a few good points here from a guy at links.. given that DLR called it a “Van Halen project” and any “new album” that Tremonti mentioned Wolfie working on could certainly turn into just “new songs” and…. given the confusing/noncommunication about an album in the works and NO album in the works, and the thread about the MSG footage etc etc…. and Trunk interviewing Mike, and someone mentioning a Sammy rumour…. it might be some retro box set or “live anthology” from different eras with some new tracks talked on. lower overheard, higher profit/sales, and just enough to be able to tour on it. One of Dave’s hotel alias’s was supposedly Darryl Licked. Eddie’s, Justin Case and Mike’s famous Biff Malibu. Not sure what to make of this Bill Ford guys claim of knowing what’s going on though. He does have a cool pic of himself holding EVH’s guitar from 2012. Here’s a link to a couple old threads he started. Hopefully I’m wrong to be skeptical. I know I read they did film some shows in 2008. There’s an old thread at the VH Links where people who were at the show saw the signs and cameras that they were filming. http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=43396 http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=53676 Here’s the 2008 MSG tour thread link. http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/new-york-reviews-t43826.html HalenbergQuote |

VOODOO (2375) | 1) I can’t imagine ANYTHING with Sam involved being mentioned by Dave and 2) Mike had to basically sign his VH life and royalties away to do the ’04 reunion tour, so again, I can’t imagine them doing anything involving either Sam or Mike. BUT, if I have learned ANYTHING at all with this entity we know as “Van Halen”, it is this: “Never Say Never”. I love all the speculation that a Van Halen project rumor can produce! VOODOOQuote |

I love a good rumor too.. it kills some time. I also agree that there’s no way VH is doing anything sam-related. Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |

VOODOO (2375) | I sent the Vegas multicam out to my old guitar teacher in LA (who is a composer for TV and movies out there) and he was blown away. He hasn’t been into bootlegs since the mid-80s and he thought that show was badass. I saw the Van Halen show at Staples Center June 9th, 2012 with him and have been hoping for a multicam of that one. Vain you bring up a good point. A while back didn’t someone post something on this site that when Eddie was asked about a live dvd from the tour he replied there is no need for one the bootleggers have done a good job on this trour? videoman320Quote |

Halenberg (406) | Oh my bad. I see now I confused him with the other guy who said there is no new album. He’s the one with the picture who seems legit. http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=59459 Here’s the thread with the picture. http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/showthread.php?p=1517516#post1517516 HalenbergQuote |
