Jennifer Hope’s bio describes her as “an enigma”. As a musician whose training began in classical music, she has developed a fan base in the alternative pop/rock and goth/ethereal genres. As a singer/songwriter, she somewhat ventures away from traditional song structures, weaving intricate melodies around her deeply personal lyrics. Within the light of her voice and personality, she also explores and exposes the darkness within. An enigma, perhaps, but an artist, no doubt.

Demos of her new songs caught the attention of Eddie Van Halen, who immediately recognized her talent and potential. He stepped forward to sponsor the making of her new album, Velvet Fire. At the same time, producer Warren Huart had listened to songs that she submitted online and expressed interest in producing the album. With a sponsor, a renowned producer, A-list session players and a professional studio, she had the resources to record her music the way she envisioned it.

He attended a show the other night.

So, I met this guy last night in North Hollywood. Real friendly guy. Says he plays a little guitar…

*kidding HOLY SH*T, it’s EDDIE FU*KING VAN HALEN!

Eddie sponsored a project for my good friend Jennifer Hope, I helped her out on bass last night for the release party for her EP “X-Tremities”, produced by Warren Huart (Aerosmith, Eve 6, The Fray and others).

Congrats on the release, Jennifer Hope!

Thanks again to guitarist Christopher Webb and cellist Taylor Harb for joining us in stage. Great job, guys! And thanks to all the above for having me last night.

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

Available on April 8, 2014, X-Tremities includes three new tracks from alternative recording artist, Jennifer Hope. The intriguing blend of genre bending influences ranges from mystical indie rock with pop vocals and chill wave overtones in “The Fine Line” to driving, edgy, electronic rock in the shadowy cover of “Every Breath You Take”. Sponsored by Eddie Van Halen, produced by Warren Huart (The Fray, Eve 6, Aerosmith, Johnette Napolitano) and Pete Strobl (track 3), X-Tremities is the sum of unique and independent yet commercially accessible.

Ed really lacks the ability to pick talent.. He needs to stick to VH and leave the scouting to the professionals.

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.

As much as it seems odd to us, songs like her cover of Every Breath You Take are very popular on TV shows these days.

To be fair, that’s not saying much in today’s pop culture.. Originality and creativity aren’t celebrated or rewarded. Her music is very pedestrian and yawn-inspiring to me.
