DLR is gay?

OK this is not meant as a flame (no pun intended) but I have just always thought that he acted gay. So what if he is? VH will always be the best band ever!

This is the most retarded thing ever. Let’s think this through… 1985-2006 the VH bros hate DLR. They can’t keep his name out of their lying flithy schlitz filled pie holes – do you honestly think they’re too classy to ever ‘out’ him if that was the case? The answer is no. If Dave loved the cock the bros would have been all over that shit like mike anthony on a terrible over-weight has-been hack of a singer.

I could care less if he is gay or not. If he is I think it would have come out by now. I just started this thread because I found the statement in the recording humorous and I was a little bored at three in the morning.

You don’t get it. The point was that someone who is not as blindly in love with Dave as you are and isn’t as big of a VH fan as we are had the knee jerk reaction that Dave appears to be gay. His Shirley Temple dancing is almost as openly gay as Liberace or Sigfreid & Roy.

wjamflan: There has been speculation about this for a long time. I remember reading alot about this awhile back on DDLR.com. I think Wooda had some stories from waaay back, if I remember right, so it shouldn’t exactly be news. It doesn’t really matter to me either, b/c I thought he acted gay in concert back in their heyday. Some even said he was overcompensating with all the “I’m gonna f**k your girlfriend stuff” back then. Whatever. The band was cool b/c they made good music and put on good shows. They were fun to watch and listen to b/c they didn’t take themselves too seriously and still kicked some major ass. A big part of that was Dave. Despite his schtick, he was still cool. Now, not so much. Why? I think one of the reviews from when ADKOT was first released applies here. It said, basically, Diamond Dave was no more. All that is left is embarassing Uncle Dave. It is somewhat true. He can’t pull off the Spicoli/stoner/surfer/singer dude thing he did so well back in the day. Hey, we all have to grow up, and to his credit, Dave has. It’s just that’s he’s not as much fun, and his idiosyncracies are much more pronounced b/c there’s nothing else there to distract us from seeing them. The dancing, the faces, etc. just come off to alot of the uninitiated as weird. Those of us who have been fans forever just think that’s Dave. Mature Dave, but Dave nonetheless.For me, it’s much more troubling that he’s struggling so mightily to sing. I don’t expect the falsetto screams he was so good at back then. They’ve been gone for awhile. The shrieking and singing out of tune in registers that are higher than the songs were originally written in is more of a problem for me. It makes listening painful…..
