Gilligan (1518) | Wow, this one is pretty good! I like the breakdown in Bottom’s Up where Dave tells the crowd that Ed doesn’t usually sing in this part. He then tells Ed the only thing to be afraid of is fear. I think that’s a telling moment in their growth – Dave was up and ready to take on the world and Ed was ready to stay in the background and just play. No question in my mind that Dave took VH to the masses. Ed alone wasn’t enough. Anyone can be the greatest guitar player in the world in their bedroom. Only the brave take it o the masses, and those guys usually need a catalyst. Say what you want about how it all played out, but Dave and Ed needed each other at the beginning and it was a perfect match for the fan base. GilliganQuote |
