Personally, I find this sad. It is the end of an era. CD … Rest In Peace. I may be one of the few that still prefers to have the CD (I know I’m a rare person). To be honest I rip most of the CDs to m4a and put them on my phone to listen to in the car or at work but I still prefer to actually have the CD. My daughter doesn’t want any CDs at all … she Spotifies everything, I’m certain younger people are consuming music different … I understand how it goes. I still think it is sad.

Can’t say I’m surprised about Best Buy. Their music section has been shrinking for years. It was only a matter of time.

I still love the cd’s reading the booklets having the physical music. I would think cd’s will be around for a while but as noticed in some new cars the don’t even have the cd players any more..

I got my copy of ADKOT 6 years ago from Best Buy.

I hope they offer discs on their website.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Dropped into a Best Buy today (to buy a replacement mouse), and checked out the CD section. Just a couple of racks over along a wall, highly picked over, and everything 25% off. They did have a 1984 and Diver Down still on the shelf. Looks like they are phasing out DVDs and BluRays as well based on their placement along the same wall.

2018 = the year physical media died?

Streaming is taking over.

I don’t stream and I don’t buy cds. I just listen to all the same music I’ve been listening to since college… Never gets old!

They have always had a great DVD selection. Kind of surprised they are phasing out Blu-Rays.
Oh well, there is Walmart.
