I was exactly 11 years, 8 months and 21 days old when I first saw Van Halen, which by the way happened to be one of the very last shows VH played with Dave before the split: August 31, 1984, Winterthur Switzerland. VH was part of the Monsters Of Rock tour and entered the stage right before AC/DC. I don’t remember too much from that concert but I got hooked and followed the bands activities ever since, becoming an active trader in the beginning of the 90s when I used to ship tons of cassettes around the world. Much more convenient now with the Internet but it will never give you the same excitement I used to have when a “fresh” package from the States arrived by airmail with new tapes and shows. I love ALL eras, the Dave years, the Sam years and – being an Extreme fan before – also the Gary era. Favorite tours are Fair Warning (of course) and RHRN tour back in 1993 (mother of all tours with Sammy). And the new tour just kicks ass, great to see the boys back in such a shape after all the bashing before the tour started!
