Just got an email from amazon about Kindle Fire weekend deals and saw that ADKOT mp3 album is $5! WTF?!??!

I’m not sure how well the album is selling. None of the songs are in the top fifty VH songs sold at itunes. I can’t find a total sold through Billboard. Does anyone know how well it’s doing?

Amazon offers tons of albums for $5 – a new batch every month. I don’t think it has that much to do with current sales, etc. – it’s just what they do. They even sell whole albums for $0.99 sometimes! Lady Gaga had a number one album with Born This Way thanks to a $0.99 sale at Amazon – and it was new and she is popular!

Thanks, I haven’t been able to find any numbers lately. All I can get is the first weeks number of 187,000.

It’s a good idea if you think about it… a band like VH will sell the bulk of what they’re going to sell within the first few weeks when the hardcore fans, like us, run out and buy it immediately. By now it’s like 3rd or 4th tier fans or maybe someone who went to a show and decided they liked what they heard. Not to mention you can download it for free if you’re even semi internet literate.
