This is from Van Halen’s show that took place on 09/17/04 at the Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA on the 2004 Reunion Tour with Sammy Hagar. . This is supposedly from Ed’s IEM (Inner Ear Monitor) source. So it’s basically soundboard quality.. EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote

I’ve never seen Ed wear an IEM, but this recording could have been made from his on the floor monitor feed. As a guitar player, this is difficult to listen to. I am not sure if Ed could play much worse than this. If Ed were to listen to this today, I am sure he would shake his head, and cringe. The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. Nobody rules these streets at night like Van Halen!! jroundyQuote
