Ron – Is this a new release & are you getting both versions ?

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Yes, this appears to be a new release. I do not know what the source material is for this LP (yet). I may or may not be getting both colors. :)

My copies arrived today. The red vinyl has a deep scratch all the way across the album. Ugh…

If anyone wants an mp3 rip of the vinyl, PM me. The original files from these recordings are out there. I just dragged a recording for my listening at work.

How does the sound on the LP compare to the previously circulating bootleg files, any better?

Nope. They’re the cleaned up versions. Not the muddy versions on the original boot CD release.

Can you do a lossless version ?

Is it different or does It sound better than the remastered version already in release?

I don’t have the ability to do lossless from vinyl. I was just playing around with the turntable my girlfriend bought me last year that allows me to record direct to mp3. I hadn’t used it before. There are FLACs out there of the cleaned up versions of these tracks. I know I have them somewhere.

I don’t think it sounds any better than the remastered versions. It definitely wasn’t made from the original CD with the really muddy, bass heavy tracks.

It might be the version I remastered in 2005, it’s the commonly circulated version. In which case I did pull it off the original cd.

What is the MP3 quality ? 320k ?

Listening to the white vinyl version. The sound is okay. A lot better than the original CD release. I don’t appear to have a “remastered” version handy, so can’t compare to that.
