I’d love to be a fly on the wall if and when Wolf were to tell his dad, “I want to permanently move on from Van Halen and do my own thing.”

That will never happen

I liked this bit….

He also remains part of Van Halen, which will play three shows during June in Japan and is reported to be working on a new album. “There’s plenty of ideas lying around and some new stuff that we’ve been working on, too,” Van Halen reports. “You never know what’ll happen.”

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

Never say never – because I wouldn’t be the first one to become a fly.

Just my 2 cents – I think it’s more likely to happen, now that Wolf has gotten a taste of life outside of VH.

The part that troubles me is that Wolf is now a full fledged member of the Tremoni band. This could be a problem if Eddie still thinks you can only be in one band. Sounds to me like Wolf wants to branch out. Maybe Dave is putting the feelers out to see about Mike. Only time will tell I guess. I hope some good recordings come from the up coming shows. You never know with this band.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Even though Wolfe is a full fledge member of Tremonti its not that big a deal. Tremontis main band still seems to be Alter Bridge and he still has Creed for nastalgia. If and when VH tours that will be Wolfe’s priority no matter what.

Lets see I’m Wolfgang and would I rather play clubs with Tremonti in front of a few hundred people or would I rather play 20,000 seat arenas with dad and uncle Alex? Hmmm.
I have a girl freind and a house now Hmmm which would be better financially? Its a no brainer. Now if you want to make everyone happy let Tremonti warm up Van Halen and have Mikey play bass in Van Halen. Hmmm will Mikey come back without Sammy? I doubt it.

I don’t know any more than you do, obviously, but I think Dave’s RS interview set the table for more tour dates, a reunion with Mike and possible future recordings. He basically came out and said it all, in his own peculiar way. Wolf’s “job” is done – he got the band up and running again. Now he and they can go do their own things. Dave knew all of this ahead of time and has started laying the groundwork for it to unfold.

Don’t quote me on this, of course, but that’s my impression so far.

I agree with Dave and Mink, ‘Taste for life outside VH’ and ‘maybe Dave is putting the feelers out’
He’s a young kid, time moves fast at that age, I would image he’s already having moments of ‘this isn’t cool to be seen with these old guys’ let’s face it one’s his dad and the others his uncle! …works for so long imo :)

I dont know if I agree with that…. Not cool to be in Van Halen??? That would be like Jason Bonham saying its not cool to be in Led Zeppelin because he’s hanging around his dads old friends…. Kind of…. Besides, how much longer do you see VH touring for, even if all goes well… Ten years from now, 3 of them will be pushing 70… I dont see them touring at all at that stage of their lives.

If Wolfgang decides to stop playing with VH, VH are done. Ed wont continue without him. Valerie’s already said it. MIkey’s not coming back folks. It’s just not going to happen. I know in the past thats been said before, but we were all talking about the lead singers then. Big difference…

Just my personal opinion . . . if Mike got a call from 5150 . . . I think he’d be there as fast as humanly possible.

My reasoning for this is: a lot of the dysfunction in Van Halen stems (or should I say “stemmed”) from Ed’s alcoholism. However, for the first time since Mike has known him – Ed is sober and much more functional than he was in the past.
