PT5150 (6290) | Saw this a while ago on twitter from a different place.. How would these two go together?? http://www.zimbio.com/Van+Halen/articles/IbkPD3SKFsv/Van+Halen+Australian+Tour+Sammy+Hagar+David Also EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. This is about the third thing I have heard pointing to a Ratt VH tour. EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote |

ffoner (1089) | I’d be excited if this happened, but it seems to me Roth and co have gone out of their way to distance themselves from the whole 80s glam scene that they influenced. Wolfie grew up listening to 90s stuff, so I doubt he’s banging the drum for Ratt. Roth has called the shots on the opening acts, correct? Based on Marley and Kool and the Gang’s role as openers it hardly seems likely that Roth would then make a left turn and say let’s go with Ratt. ffonerQuote |

i tend to agree. As we know… VH has had the strangest openers throughout their career. mostly unheard of bands. And they always did distance themselves from the 80′s metal bands. For good reason. 99% of those bands are pretty crappy when you really listen and have no relation to Van Halen — except that they were all mostly influenced by VH But yeah… Ratt + VH now still seems a bit odd. thismusicsuxQuote |

King Edward (1950) | If it was Ratt who would slow the tour down first….Stephan Pearcy fighting with Warren DeMartini and the band or Van Halen postponing the tour do to “exhaustion”. King EdwardQuote |

Gilligan (1518) | The pairing makes too much sense to actually be true. It’s kinda the way these types of bands are existing on the road these days, but VH/Any-Rock-Band seems unlikely. GilliganQuote |

steecoe (1986) | I can’t remember the last time VH toured with a big name, they usually bring along an up-&-comer, unknown, or most recently cross genre appeal act. I doubt they would share the coffers with an act that would take a good chunk of the change….I would not pay double to see VH, I’d rather see them tour with a less expensive opener. steecoeQuote |

I would think that chances are good that Ratt would be willing to get payed the relatively small amount that they get for playing at a club (where they would otherwise be playing anyway), because they would play in front of 12k as opposed to 300-400, and probably sell a helluva lot more merch and CDs. guitardQuote |

Revo11 (985) | Randy is right, Ratt would have a hard time pulling in more than 300 almost anywhere if they were headlining (clubs). I used to be a big Ratt fan back in the 80′s, but I thought that Pearcey’s voice was shot. I haven’t heard any boots of him lately, I could be wrong. Revo11Quote |

steecoe (1986) | Well if the filthy whores work cheap, I’d dig seeing them open for VH, bring it on! I used to love Ratt back the 80′s. They kicked off their tour the one year here & I think it was the tour before that I got to go to a backstage meet & greet steecoeQuote |

sickman (2380) | Back around 2001 my brother in laws band had an opportunity to open for RATT at a small club in CT. The catch was there were actually 4 opening bands and whoever sold the most tickets got the slot right before RATT. Well we sold a couple hundred tix at $20.00 each and they got that slot. I believe the total attendance that night was about 500 people with most of the tix being sold by the opening bands to friends, family and fans. I was told by the guy who books the bands that RATT made $5000.00 for the night. Mind you at the time their singer was some douche bag by the name of Jizzy Pearl or something like that, not Stephen. sickmanQuote |

jroundy (1418) | Ratt opening for Van Halen would be Way Cooler Jr., than the last two openers, for the last two tours. I had no interest in either previous opening acts. I would also be willing to pay more for that ticket, but not a lot more. The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. Nobody rules these streets at night like Van Halen!! jroundyQuote |
