Original Guitar Hero FLAC stems (unknown lineage) >
Convert original FLACs to AIFs using xACT >
Add tracks to Soundtrack Pro multitrack project >
Adjust volume of Submix to -3 to avoid clipping >
Export Submix as stereo AIF @ 16-bit/44.1kHz >
Trim excess dead time from heads/tails of resulting files >
Encode to FLAC level 8 and tag using xACT

Tracks 2-11 – 2-14:
untouched files from VHND YouTube uploads > convert to lossless AIF > Normalize levels in Soundtrack Pro to match Guitar Hero tracks > encode to FLAC level 8 and tag using xACT

Notes:
The source material from Guitar Hero was originally lossy, but I received the tracks as FLACs with unknown lineage. A lot of the songs had guitar or other overdubs occupying the same track as the vocals, so the overdubs are missing in the mix in parts where there is singing. Wherever possible, I carefully edited around the vocals to include the missing overdubs in the mix, usually during the guitar solos. Otherwise, there has been no remixing done; the various stem tracks were simply lined up with the volume for each individual stem track left as-is.
