ron (11779) | Turns out the release is on the “Shades” label, which means it’s most likely just a copy of the already released recording. More images: ronQuote |

jorge (454) | http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=690877 In an effort to help celebrate the brilliant and all-too-brief life and brilliant mastery that was Eddie Van Halen, here’s a new presentation of Van Halen’s final show ever at The Hollywood Bowl. We all must acknowledge our great friend Flying M’s work on this. I sent him my eq’d files with persistent static clicks throughout with no expectations that they’d be cleaned up as perfectly as he made ‘em sound now. It was so noisy and I was afraid y’all’d never get to hear this at all – it would’ve almost been impossible to release in that condition. As you’ll soon hear – that is not the case at all! Clicks? What static?? Great software has been our friend throughout this project however, and well-employed in the right hands… I thank him, and you’ll want to as well! Great big thank yous must also be extended to our hard-working art department ethiessen1 for his spectacular contribution to this historic set on this very sad occasion for so many of us. Much appreciation for the good fortune of our anonymous benefactor who captured the original recording in the first place long before it made its way into my inbox thanks to johndoe335 finding it somewhere out there… Since it’s an ALD, you won’t hear much of the audience’s raving responses to everything going on on that big stage, and there are some periods of extended silence I’ve left in to retain the entire flow of the show, so stick with it. The Bowl is a noisy rowdy place though, so it’s nice not to have to have to listen to any interference from the overly-enthusiastic crowd when you get a recording such as this. You mostly get just the music, yes – there’s some low volume applause of course, and it’s indeed a great show for the ages. Even a most gracious DLR agrees that this crowd got a great one on that night… Check out the first before/after sample for a taste of how it sounded when I first got it and what’s been done to squeeze every bit of sound out, and then the others to get you in the mood while you’re waiting for your download to complete. I’ll make sure to get this out to a few of the other places we all enjoy visiting to satisfy our musical urges, so please allow me that courtesy. Thanks! Somewhere, someone named Jamie’s still cryin’… I’m a little verklempt my own self. (LOL – spell check thinks I mean that I ‘overslept’.)
