ron (11779) | Van Halen’s LOST ROCK OPERA, live in ’75 Here’s Van Halen mega-rare two-song “Rock Opera” live at Pasadena HS on April 25, 1975: “Eyes of the Night – Forced Entry.” The sound improves quite a bit once “Forced Entry,” the lost VH original, begins after “Eyes of the Night.” For the full, untold story of VH’s rise to fame, check out the book Van Halen Rising: ronQuote |

JasonA (1118) | I just recently got the book and read it last week. Great stuff, gives a whole new perspective to the events that lead up to their world domination. I’m curious – have the KISS demos that EVH and AVH played on ever leaked any where? I would agree with the previous comment about keeping up with all of the names mentioned throughout, I got a little confused at times. Also, I was a little surprised that with all the comments in the book from Terry Kilgore, there was no mention (that I recall) of him teaming up with Dave for his 1994 album Your Filthy Little Mouth. Cover design by Amy Fernald: http://amyfernalddesign.com/work/ Disappointed that it comes on a CDR verses a standard CD. It also comes in a DVD case, which is somewhat odd. 11 hours, 25 mins and 57 secs split into 17 parts. ronQuote |

guitard (7354) | My guess is that the book and CD versions were negotiated, handled, and released separately, thus leading to differences in things like the cover. I’m sure Greg will be able to confirm. guitardQuote |

I’m sure thats it, but it’s weird from a branding standpoint to introduce different art & logo. Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |
