Oh I know what Higgy does with his vinyl. He’s a friggin mad man! I was just curious if, by chance, this show was chosen, because it was a new source or an upgraded version of the previously circulated source. I’m reaching for a justification to buy the damn thing. Stop pissing on my picnic. VOODOOQuote |

Just buy it so Ron can’t brag he’s the only one here that owns a copy. When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor? mrmojohalenQuote |

Do I really come across as bragging? That’s not what I intend to do. I’m trying to inform first and foremost. Unfortunately, this release is one of the most confusing VH releases ever. The show is spread across 2 different items, with each item having 2 different variations. The lack of credible information out there makes/made it really hard to know what was what. It’s also an easy-to-get release, so it’s not like “look what I got, that you can’t have”. I ordered my copies from Amazon.com ronQuote |

Ron – I was only joking about the bragging. What were the variations ? When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor? mrmojohalenQuote |

Released on both black vinyl, and/or clear vinyl. If you want the whole show, you have to buy 2 items. Black Vinyl: PARA174LP and PARA214LP ronQuote |

cobohall76 (436) | I’ve heard samples of the records and it sounds good to me. Does anyone know where the source came from and if it was remastered in anyway. For those who have it, do u recommend it. Thanks guys. cobohall76Quote |

https://www.allmusic.com/album/hurricane-maryland-broadcast-1982-mw0003036949 If these are the samples, it sounds like it was sourced from the VHS/DVD audio. Nothing new. VOODOOQuote |

Same title for the LPs, so I’m willing to bet you dinner at Lucky’s that it’s the same source. Otherwise the title would be, “SUPER ULTRA MEGA REMASTERED NUMBERED MAXI-COLORED VINYL ALTERNATE SOURCE EDITION!!” It was not. I stand by my comment. VOODOOQuote |

I’d say it’s just a collectible item for the completists. You can throw in the ’82 Largo show on DVD or pull it up on YouTube and listen to the same show in, most likely, almost identical quality. There is a reason these are released in such limited quantities. They’re not anything new or upgraded from what’s already in circulation at this point. Unless the band releases the shows direct from master tapes and remastered, you’re not going to get anything that is a dramatic improvement over what’s already out there. If you’re a collector who likes to get everything that is out there (like Higgy), by all means, go for it! VOODOOQuote |
