it is certainly nice to see our boys slammin away at the Billboards with all the latest and flavor of the day hot acts of today. Kinda puts them back in the limelight again. Strange seeing Taylor Swift and Britney Spears jamming to the Mighty VH. Kinda neat to see…

good job boys… good job,

Van Halen is opening at the Country Music Awards?! Considering the CMAs were last month, I don’t know what he’s talking about.

PT5150: David Lee Roth says he’ll never perform Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen songs, and says the reasons are obvious. First, Roth was never sure about Hagar’s commitment to the work. Second, he says, the public has made it clear which edition they favor. “Well, there’s a credibility issue there,” Roth said, back stage at the Billboard Music Awards. “Good, bad or in the middle, you know Roth means it; the other guy doesn’t. And that’s why it sold half as well — literally, Midas Bible half. Never did better than half. And why would you bring that into the proceedings? This hamburger don’t need no helper. Ain’t no rehearsing pants in my closet.”

Sammy Hagar Fires Back at David Lee Roth Over Van Halen Setlist
By Nick DeRiso

Sammy Hagar has taken to the airwaves to respond to Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth’s pointed recent criticism of the so-called Van Hagar era.

Specifically, Hagar questioned whether Roth could handle the vocals on a Hagar-sung Van Halen hit like “Right Now,” while introducing a live version of the song by his new band Circle as part of the Sammy Hagar’s Top Rock Countdown broadcast.

“The boys are out on tour — happily doing well, I hope,” Hagar said, “but they’re not playing any Van Hagar songs. My buddy Diamond said it was something about a quality issue. I laughed. I’m cracking up. You know, sometimes the guy says the wackiest things. But there’s a lot of truth in that. A quality issue — you think about that. Think about them with Diamond, singing this next song, it would definitely be a quality issue, OK? [Chuckles.] It would definitely be a quality issue.”

It’s nice to know that, with both of these guys, some things never change. There’s something to be said for consistency!

Um, no Sam.. he said a ‘credibility’ issue – as in sam hagar revisionist history and math are bullshit. I’m not even going to point out how sam revised what Dave said to suit his needs. That would be too easy.

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.

I do like how he calls him Diamond! Diamond Dave is one of the better nicknames in rock.

http://www.evhgear.com/news/2015/05/van-halen-rips-through-panama-on-billboard-music-awards/

Last weekend’s Billboard Music Awards got off to an electric start, as Van Halen opened the ceremony with a searing rendition of classic track “Panama.”

It was a strong reminder of the power of rock at an event where pop artists like One Direction and John Legend take up much of the spotlight.

During Van Halen’s appearance— which also served notice to fans everywhere that the band is about to go on tour to support new live album Tokyo Dome Live in Concert—Eddie Van Halen again proved why he is among the all-timers, connecting perfectly with bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and vocalist David Lee Roth.

New Billboard interview finally coming out this week. Looks to be another good one with some answers a little more candid than usual.
