kaloway
(2021)

So I was having an interesting conversation with friends about email and internet over the years and this came up: Remember AOL and creating a username? Well that stuck around so you could post without your real name.

So then this started, “Why is your username the name it is”?

Kaloway: When AOL started I was (and still am) an avid golf fan, but I could not spell worth a crap. Callaway became Kaloway.

Gilligan

I’ve always liked the anonymity of the internet. I’m a big Gilligan’s Island fan and I live on an island, so it seemed natural.

My favorite car since I was in high school is a Corvette. Been fortunate enough to own 5 different Vettes over the years, 2 of which were ZR1 Corvettes. So, I had ZR1fevr plates on one of them, couldn’t spell fever, not enough letters allowed in Ca. Corvette Fever was a great magazine I always purchased, that’s where the idea came from. Those were fun times indeed.

guitard
(7354)

I used to work with this fat, ugly woman whose surname was “Guitard.” I had never heard that name before, but thought it had a nice rock ‘n roll sort of ring to it …

And as for “Silver Stallion” — that’s a carryover from my illustrious career in porn. Yeah ~~ Right~!! Actually many years ago I had a bit role in a Korean movie titled Silver Stallion. When I started filming shows and authoring DVDs, my mentor told me I needed to come up with a nickname. I never foresaw this becoming my main hobby – I figured it was just something I’d dabble in for a bit. I looked around my computer room and saw the tape copy of that movie, and decided on “Silver Stallion.” It sounded kind of silly and whimsical at the same time — perfect for a nickname that would soon go out of use and be forgotten. Damn . . . if I had only know . . .

And here I thought you were a retarded guitarist and a Ford Mustang fan!

Long before usernames and emails, when I would make a tape for someone (non-traders) I would put “A Steecoe Recording” or “A Steecoe Production” on there somewhere below the song titles.
My name is Steve Cole, drop the v & the l, cram the two together & wham bam Steecoe.

It’s no worse than mine, Ron. Maybe it took a second longer to come up with, though.
