kaloway (2024) | So I started to build a record collection and added live VH. Then I noticed the turntable speed is too fast. Went through all the forums etc and turns out the unit I got as a gift is low end on special. So I ask, any recommendations for a quality turntable? kalowayQuote |

JasonA (1119) | It just depends on your budget, you get what you pay for. I have a Rega RP-1 that sounds good. I’ve also read good things about the Pro-Ject debut ($600) and Audio-Technica makes some quality stuff too. Stay away from anything that includes bluetooth, that’s a dead giveaway for a cheap turntable. No matter what you get, the biggest factor in sound quality is the cartridge used. My Rega didn’t sound all that great until I upgraded the cartridge. JasonAQuote |

kaloway (2024) | Remember when you could go to a shop that had people to answer all of these questions??? kalowayQuote |

Those shops still exist if you look hard enough. But Best Buy isn’t one of them. You could also look for a vintage model at a thrift shop or estate sale and find a shop that repairs them to restore it for you. Might cost less than buying brand new. JasonAQuote |
