EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

That was great… Cant wait to hear more.

Man, Richie sounds a bit like Chris Cornell in the verses…

Richie was supposed to been here with Extreme this last week or so. I wonder if this was going to be the band he bought with him???

Is this a cd that is out? Also, wasn’t Portnoy suppose to be doing something with Sykes

Sykes didn’t work fast enough for Portnoy, so that project turned into this project.

Roth, meanwhile, hides behind the sound of his own voice; the man never stops talking, but most of it is a jibber-jabber jive, a Cartoon Network version of classic-rock kung fu and spitball metaphysics.

The new video from the Winery Dogs is a fairly straightforward clip that keeps the focus right where it belongs — on the music.

‘Desire’ is the second video from the group’s forthcoming self-titled album. The Winery Dogs consist of three veteran rockers, featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold), bassist Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth, Mr. Big) and singer/guitarist Richie Kotzen, whose previous credits include Mr. Big and a stint in Poison.

‘Desire’ depicts the trio in a straight performance of the song with a few psychedelic video effects, but mostly it’s the music that makes the clip worthwhile. The group’s unique sound marries straightforward power pop and rock with a higher level of instrumental ability for a heavy and aggressive, yet melodic and accessible vibe that ought to appeal to a wide range of rock fans.

Kotzen’s high-energy voice is a perfect match for the material, and his understated rhythm chording leaves plenty of room for a very active bass line from Sheehan before they both depart from the main theme of the track for a couple of mind-bending guitar and bass solos. The production is clean and punchy, with nice wah-wah inflections and an overall classic-yet-modern feel.

This is undoubtedly the kind of music that would be well served by in live performances, which fans can only hope is part of the agenda after the album comes out. The Winery Dogs are set to release their debut album on July 23 via Loud & Proud Records.
