If that’s the question I think the answer is an easy … no. It has not lost value. Having said that, you may be asking the wrong question. In stead of, “has VHTrading lost its value” a better question might be, “is it worth keeping VHTrading running with such low participation”. Subtle but important difference. My answer to that would be, it is worth keeping VHTrading running, at least in my opinion. I think looking at posts and visits are two different things and several visits a day is more important than a couple posts a day. I really hope it is not all about the cost, although I can understand financial concerns. If it were only monetary, a go-fund me page or some other instrument could be set up for members to contribute and keep the site alive. I think more than mere finances, this goes deeper. An administrator that has grown tired of the tasks to administer such a site and field the complaints and daily grind of keeping the site running. It is understandable afterall, we all have times in our lives in which for one reason or another we need to move on. This site has already gone through a number of administrators and maybe it is time for someone new to take the reigns. If the current administrator, for whatever reason, wants to step back … I don’t blame him. The question is … who will step forward? frankmQuote |

In addition, without him, this place is very seldom about the recordings. With as much as he has done already, it’s not surprising that he might be completely burnt. He has put a lot of time and effort into disseminating shows to the VH masses. We all owe him a debt of gratitude. I have not spoken with him at all about any of this, but if he’s completely done, maybe vhtrading really has lost its value. As a filmer & author of countless dvd’s & blu-ray’s, Randy has contributed greatly to this site, sharing a ton of shows. A site doesn’t necessarily have to have members that author or even record shows (Even though that adds value in it’s own way.). It’s all about the sharing of shows regardless of where they come from. The torrent folks can download shows & share with others that are old school, via whatever means. It’s not cast in stone. Guitard agreed to turn the site over to someone else. That cannot happen unless we hear from him with all of the details.
