I searched the website, and couldn’t find anything about that. What exactly is the policy? guitardQuote |

I’m sure they accept any amount for donations, but memberships start at $1K, and that was the only thing that seemed to offer any benefits – and at the 1K level, the benefits are next to nil. guitardQuote |

I don’t think Ed’s appearance is the first in this series, so hopefully, the manner is which the earlier appearances are made available for public viewing/listening will indicate whether or not we can expect anything from Ed’s appearance. Either way … I have a good feeling that someone at VHT will have this covered. guitardQuote |

PT5150 (6290) | Hi everyone, the following is an update about the event at the Smithsonian: Nothing about the event has changed. They are just preparing a more informative announcement, so we took down our article for now. It’s all good! VAiN (2777) | Well that’s good news… To me this one is a bit of a head-scratcher. Eddie isn’t very good at public speaking. I’m curious to see what all he has to say. Hopefully he has a few stacks carted out there and gives a demo. Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings. VAiNQuote |

PT5150 (6290) | On Eds twitter just now.. What makes rock ’n’ roll quintessentially American? The answer may lie in our talent for innovation and reinvention–two subjects no one knows better than Eddie Van Halen. A Dutch immigrant and naturalized U.S. citizen, Van Halen created an iconic American band–and kept it relevant for five decades by continually reinventing it. As a performer, songwriter, and inventor of instruments that allow musicians to make sound in new ways, he redefined how the guitar is played and designed. Is reinvention the definitive quality of the art of rock ‘n’ roll? Rock icon Van Halen discusses his American journey, and how he’s reinvented himself, his band, and the way the guitar is played. EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote |

Gilligan (1518) | I think it would be wildly interesting to hear him speak candidly about how he “reinvented” the band. Will he say it was all part of his great design? Or would he say the band was perfect storm where things just happened to turn out right in spite of their efforts to control it? He used to always say something like “falling down the stairs and landing on your feet” and I think that’s how the band really evolved. Interesting… GilliganQuote |
