Was reading a old interview in a best of GW mag the other day from Sammy & Ed after the release of Sammy’s album.
Then I went back and dug the cd out and had a listen..Some great tunes on there…
Sammy said there is a hidden riff or lick played by Ed on album.
Sammy wanted to play When The Hammer Falls live with VH ( which I think would have been awesome to hear) but Ed said we’ll probably play Eagles Fly.
They (Sammy) were in a very creative phase around this time 5150, Sammy’s INSG and OU812..
Anyway be cool to hear what you guys thought of the album.Love Ed’s bass work on it.

Also like their work on Winner Takes It All..

Great section at the end of this clip that shows Sammy on a big stage at The Rose Bowl..
Cant find when VH played there though..

I got this when it came out in June of 1987. It wasn’t called I Never Said Goodbye at the time.

MTV had a contest to name the album, which was renamed in later pressings.

I thought it was a good album. Haven’t listened to it in over 10 years.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

not sure what bass Ed was using but I agree. This was a great time for Sam and Ed. They were so creative back then. Loved this era for sure.

Love that album. Sammy played ‘Boys Night Out,’ I think it was, on Letterman. I have that recorded somewhere. He did alot of press for this album since he didnt tour. Somewhere more recently I did read where he reveled the EVH riff…But I can’t recall what it was….VH doing Eagle’s Fly on the 1993 tour was pretty cool…

I dug it out tonight. I have the no name cassette. I really dug it though when it came out. Than again I used to like The Bullet Boys!

The singer Marc used to get compared to DLR (They looked alike).
