A release without physical medium? Sorry, that’s not a release.

Hey Ron, it looks like they responded to your comment. The physical release is going to be on the same day. May something.

Wow, who knew that people actually read Internet comments. :-)

Well, that’s certainly good news for those looking for a physical disc (old people like me I suppose).

If I were a jaded individual – or a long time Van Halen fan – I’d say this is no coincidence. Let the Sam vs Dave rants begin, errrrrr, I mean continue lol! Reminds me of the days when VH & DLR solo would release stuff only months apart. The more things change…

The timing does seem a little suspect, but this release had been rumored for a while now…

There was at least one show from last year with The Circle up at dime. I think the performance was good, especially Good Times Bad Times. Jason does a good job on Poundcake as well. Worth a listen anyway.

Screw iTunes. I want an actual CD, and it looks like we’re getting it. But, I haven’t seen any indication it’s being carried by any retailers. I’ve already done searches at Walmart and Best Buy and there wasn’t anything listed for this release.

However, I do love seeing LZ material on there, and some little heard Hagar stuff, but as for VH material? It’s noting we haven’t heard/seen him do live, or been included on a live Hagar CD. Personally, I would’ve preferred seeing some rare VH included on this release, like “Good Enough” and/or “Summer Nights” in place of “Why Can’t This Be Love”, and “Black and Blue”, or “A.F.U. (Naturally Wired)”, “Sucker in a 3 Piece” in place of “FWYS”. Jason’s drums would’ve sounded great on those last 2. “The Dream Is Over” and/or “Judgement Day” in place of “Right Now”. I love that “Little White Lie” is included in the set, but I just can’t help but feel that, given all the non-LZ songs, this is more of a Hagar driven set, even with the Zeppelin tunes included. I think their set might have worked better with a little VH, a little Montrose, a little Zeppelin, and the rest of some really killer cover tunes.
