Vince G. (2261) | Oh, Good Lord…. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/sammy-hagar-says-eddie-van-halen-owes-him-an-apology/ To say things between Van Halen and former members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony are strained is maybe a bit of an understatement. But despite the tensions there still a lot of love there for what the current Chickenfoot members did with their former band. Hagar tells Vegas Rocks! in a new video interview that he’s still disappointed that the friendship with his former bandmates has concluded. He explains, “I could get along with Alex. I got along at one time with Eddie amazingly. Obviously Mike and I are dearest friends on the planet, but Ed and I … he turned on me. It was a horrible, horrible ending to a beautiful, beautiful story, and I’m still disappointed that they have not reached out to be friends, especially Alex, because Alex and I didn’t have a problem.” However, Hagar says he understands that Alex has to side with his brother. But while the chips have fallen where they may, Hagar says he has no regrets where he is now as Chickenfoot is satisfying every musical need he has. He adds, “I am not hungry for any reunion, I am not hungry for any other band, and I am completely in love with Chickenfoot. If it wasn’t for that, I’d be bummed about the Van Halen situation.” When asked if he might ever patch things up with Eddie Van Halen, Hagar said, “I can’t see why we wouldn’t and I can’t see why we shouldn’t, but I don’t know. It’s not my goal. I’m not out there wasting energy on that. As far as I’m concerned, he owes me an apology. As far as I’m concerned, if he wanted to be friends, he should reach back out to me because what happened on that reunion tour in ’04 was some of the most miserable, back-stabbing dark crap I’ve ever been involved with my whole life and I would never go through that again with anybody or for any amount of money or any amount of fame and fortune or nothing.” Vince G.Quote |

eruption1962 (1367) | BULLSHIT! Had Dave never left in the first place…Hagar would still be playing crap…and CF is crap, too! Hagar’s a big pussy…with average talent. He should be grateful for the time he did have in VH…though that was NEVER really VH. eruption1962Quote |

I have to agree. At first I thought the “Sammy Hagar says Eddie Van Halen owes him an apology” line was something that Vince made up himself (which seemed odd to me that he would do that). And then I saw that it was just a statement made in the middle of the conversation – that the writer latched onto and made the title – even though it was never the focus of the overall interview. guitardQuote |

src (1646) | I feel sorry for the dude now. And for those who say we are Sammy bashers, I never said a bad thing about him when he was in VH or when he got back with them. I did not like the music, so I did not buy it. I still like his solo shit and some of the CF. I don’t care what a dumbass reporter asks him. He doesn’t sound happy. They want to stir up shit and he falls right in. He needs to move on. They have. srcQuote |

Vince G. (2261) | Just once, I want to see or hear an interview where, when the subject of Van Halen is broached, Sam just straight up says, “I really don’t want to talk about it.” Vince G.Quote |

Yeah, or he could just answer like Mike does. If anybody deserves an apology, it’s Mike. The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. Nobody rules these streets at night like Van Halen!! jroundyQuote |

ffoner (1089) | Sammy’s a genius when it comes to getting publicity out of the Van Halen feud. An apology? What will he think of next? Seriously. ffonerQuote |

chrisc (691) | I agree that Mickey is really the one who is owed an apology, he really never did anything wrong in my eyes, and very rarely says anything negative about the VH brothers. Get busy living or get busy dyin chriscQuote |
